2018 Football Preview – C-USA – Thundering Herd
Looking for 2018 Marshall Thundering Herd predictions? The Thundering Herd got back on the right track last year finishing with eight wins, but no one has seemed to notice around the country because Lane Kiffin is stealing the headlines. People better start to take notice though, because this team is on the rise, and should get only better this year. They are in a tough conference, but that means the wins look that much better.

2018 Marshall Thundering Herd Predictions: Team Strengths
Good Quarterback situation : Just a few months ago it looked like the Marshall Thundering Herd were going to be in some trouble at quarterback, but that isn’t the case anymore.
Alex Thomson is a grad transfer from Wagner and he might just have himself a future in the NFL after this season is done.
If he gets hurt Isiah Green is a young quarterback who looked really good during spring ball, and could step in to fill a void right away too.

It might be a bit down from last year, but overall the quarterback position is still in really good hands this year.
Experienced Defense: The Thundering Herd have nine starters back from last years team and there is a lot of buzz about what this team can do.
Last year they only allowed 20 points per game, and it should be right around that point this year. Seven of the eight top tacklers are back, and that should cause for a lot of havoc.
2018 Marshall Thundering Herd Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Getting Turnovers: The second half of the year, they really had a trouble intercepting the ball. They only had one interception the whole second half of the season, and that needs to be different this year.
This is the only position they are going to be young, and they are going to need to have some young guys step up and make a difference.
Even if the secondary doesn’t get a ton of interceptions they should be fine but the interceptions would really help this team take that next step forward.

Too Many Turnovers: The biggest struggle this team had last year, was turning the ball over, and that needs to change this year.
They had too many interceptions, and the running backs also seemed to like to cough up the ball. They can’t keep turning the ball over, if they want to take that next step forward.
Marshall Thundering Herd Prediction: 9-3
I think this team will be the mid-major dandy this year. I think that they will take a step forward even in a tough conference USA.

They have a few tough nonconference games, but in conference play I wouldn’t be shocked seeing them run the table all the way to the conference title.
