2018 Football Preview – ACC – Yellow Jackets
Looking for 2018 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets predictions? The Yellow Jackets are one of the few nonmilitary schools in division one to run the triple option and they run it to perfection. Even with the good offense, it was still a disappointing year last year for the Yellow Jackets winning just five games and under the .500 mark.

Will the Yellow Jackets take the step forward this year? or is time for the Yellow Jackets to make a change.
2018 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Predictions: Team Strengths
Triple Option Attack: The Triple Option attack is one of the hardest to guard in football, and although it might not be sexy at times, it gets the job done.
The offense will be led by quarterback TaQuon Marshall who is in his second year under center, and that means the expectations are going to be even higher.
The offensive line was a force last year, and this year it’s going to much of the same. Opening up big holes up front to get the triple option attack going.
The Yellow Jackets finished averaging over 300 yards per game last year, and look for the Yellow Jackets to top that total this year.
How well the Yellow Jackets do this year, will depend on how well the triple option performs.
New defensive style: It’s hard to tell if this is actually a strength, but it’s something that is good that it is a change.
Last year the defense wasn’t great and they needed a new voice inside the locker room to try and help the defense step up.
2018 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Passing Game Blues: When a team runs the triple option usually there isn’t a ton of passing, and last year for the Yellow Jackets it was terrible.
As bad as it was they still had a few good receivers and the top two of those are gone because of graduation. A couple of things need to happen this year to have success through the air.
Quarterback Marshall needs to be more accurate. There were a lot of wide open throws last year that was missed and can’t happen this year.
They also need to have some new receivers step up. If they can do that this might not be a weakness, but right now it looks like it will be.
Talent on Defense: The defense is going through an overhaul but the big question is just how much talent the defense has.
Upfront they are undersized and the secondary is really young. It’s not something that can be fixed overnight, but the Yellow Jackets need to do more on the recruiting trail to make up for it.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Prediction: 7-5
The Yellow Jackets are going to be better this year, even with such a tough schedule. They are really hard to prepare for, and the Triple Option is going to have a ton of success.
I think they finish the regular season with a 7-5 record and make a bowl game. The non conference schedule is light so that helps.
