2018 Football Preview – AAC – Bearcats
Looking for 2018 Cincinnati Bearcats predictions? The Bearcats are under their second year under Luke Fickell, and the expectations are high. He needs to start turning these games into wins, or there could start some grumbles. Fickell is a defensive coach, but the offense is going to need to be better this year, for a turnaround.

2018 Cincinnati Bearcats Predictions: Team Strengths
Recruiting: The strength of this team starts with head coach Luke Fickell and his ability to recruit.
The one big issue that he has had so far though is getting those recruits to result in wins, and it has to change soon.
He has had no issue getting players and even stealing some of the big names away from Big Ten teams, but now the results have to show on the field.
The talent is here this year, and the expectations are high, so the team needs to step up, and take that next step forward this year.
Veteran Defense: The defense is expected to be good this year, and a big reason has been the upperclassman.
Nine of the top 12 tacklers from last year, are back including Perry Young and Jarrell White who are going to be a key to this years team.
Fickell is a great defensive coach, and to have success it’s going to rely on the defense.
2018 Cincinnati Bearcats Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Offensive struggles: Usually when you have a senior under center the offense should be good, but that isn’t the case this year.
Hayden Moore is under center, and he is decent, but he isn’t going to win games by himself, and he needs to step up in a big way.
Tough rushing game: The offensive line needs to be better this year, especially with running the ball.
They didn’t do a good job of opening up the holes for the rushing game, and that needs to change this year, if the expectations are to change.
Cincinnati Bearcats Prediction: 5-7
The Bearcats are going to be better this year, but I really don’t think they are going to be that much better this year.
They start off the season against UCLA and that one is going to get ugly early. They can’t keep thinking about that game throughout the season though.
I think they will finish with five wins this year, and the pressure is really going to be on Fickell’s shoulders next year.
