2018 ACC Season Football Preview
Looking for ACC Conference 2018 predictions? Ahead of fall camp, the ACC has opened with the Clemson Tigers as the No. 2 team in the country in terms of title odds (+600) behind only the Alabama Crimson Tide (+175). But if you think this is a top-heavy conference with only one true contender, think again.

Although the ACC doesn’t have another team with top-10 title odds, the Miami Hurricanes sit at 11 (+2800) and the Florida State Seminoles are 13th (+4500).
Florida State is likely a bit of a stretch when it comes to title chances in Willie Taggart’s first year roaming the sidelines, but Clemson represents a nice safe pick and Miami is a favorable gamble just outside the top 10.
ACC Conference 2018 Odds: Clemson Tigers (-225)
Clemson will likely enter the 2018 college football season as the No. 1 or No. 2 overall team as far as most pundits are concerned. The Tigers went 12-2 overall last season with a 7-1 record in conference.
Their only losses came against Syracuse—a Friday the 13th loss in October by just three points—and Alabama—a loss in the College Football Playoffs Semifinals (Sugar Bowl), 24-6.

In 2018, there’s no reason to believe Clemson won’t have the best defensive line in the country. But what makes this team particularly special is that it’s going to combine that elite defense with an offensive attack that should be more of a deep-ball threat this year.
If the offensive attack is really as dangerous as we think it’s going to be—and if the defense is as elite as we’ve grown to expect, particularly on the line—it’s easy to see how the Tigers could go undefeated in conference during the 2018 season, en route to not just a College Football Playoff appearance, but a national title showing when it’s all said and done.
ACC Conference 2018 Odds: Miami Hurricanes (+700)
Miami is a clear step behind Clemson when it comes to ACC contention—and especially title contention—but the Hurricanes are going to be a sneaky pick to consider for both title games (conference and national).

Last season, Miami’s only losses came against Pitt (24-14), No. 1 Clemson (38-3) and No. 6 Wisconsin (34-24). The problem was that they all happened in the final three games of the season, which is why this team is partially falling under the radar.
One thing that simply can’t go unnoticed, though, whether you like this team or not, is the turnover chain. It became a national phenomenon last season, and not just because it was a little hokey.
In 2017, the Hurricanes were tied for 15th in the nation in interceptions, seventh in recovered fumbles…and then taking it a step further, fourth in total sacks and 11th in total tackles.
ACC Conference 2018 Odds: Florida State Seminoles (+900)
A new era has begun for the Florida State Seminoles with Willie Taggart officially stepping in to take over as head coach. Many suspected that Taggart, whose roots run strong in the state of Florida, was using his time at Oregon as a stepping stone to the Seminoles job. Few, however, thought he’d make the move as quickly as he did, following a single 7-6 season in Eugene.
Nevertheless, the man found his dream job early, and he and his squad are going to be in the running for both an ACC title and a national title as long as they can get out of the gate hot.

They’ll be a long shot for both; don’t get us wrong. But with the third-best odds to win a conference championship and the 13th-best odds to win a natty, you can’t disregard this group—even if its best chances of winning big will begin in Year 2 under Taggart, not Year 1.

ACC Conference: 2018 Prediction
We like FSU as an ultra-but-realistic underdog, and we like Miami as a good sneaky pick with realistic odds and a nice payout. But if we’re being honest, this is Clemson’s conference to lose, and as long as the team can stay healthy, that’s not going to change throughout 2018.
