2017 Football Preview – SEC – Razorbacks
Looking for 2017 Arkansas Razorbacks predictions? It was another middling year for the Arkansas Razorbacks who haven’t won more than eight games since Bret Bielema took over. On paper, 2017 doesn’t look to be any different.

The good news for the Razorbacks is they play in the SEC where they get the advantage and excuse of having a soft schedule from the indoctrinated apologists. Arkansas is guaranteed to have three wins already and not to mention they get eight home games this year.
2017 Arkansas Razorbacks Predictions: Team Strengths
Plenty of Experience: Offensively, this is a team that has plenty of experience, but is that enough? Senior quarterback Austin Allen will have to take that next step this year.
Arkansas’ offensive line has plenty of experience with one senior and three juniors starting, but they allowed 35 sacks last year. They will have to play much better. Junior halfback Rawleigh Williams III will be the bell cow at halfback this year.
Secondary: We will get into Arkansas’ defensive weaknesses in a moment, but they can hang their hat on their secondary. Josh Liddell, De’Andre Coley, Santos Ramiriez are solid safeties that can hang their own. But, the big name here is junior cornerback Ryan Pulley.
Pulley is a potential NFL pick this year if he chooses to declare himself, he’s got a lot of talent and he will have to come up with some big plays to help out his maligned defense.
2017 Arkansas Razorbacks Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Transition To 3-4 Defense: I don’t know if it is just a coincidence, but I did the preview for Nebraska and after a rough year defensively they are transitioning over to a 3-4 defense this year.
After getting ripped apart on the defensive end; in particular on the ground where they gave up over 250 yards per game and the most rushing touchdowns for the season (39) they’ve decided to move to a base 3-4 defense.
Not only is Arkansas moving to a 3-4 defense, but virtually they are replacing their entire front seven. Not many players have true playing experience and that will be a huge problem.
2017 Arkansas Razorbacks Prediction: 7-5
This is a Razorback team that has a lot of problems, but with that said this is a team that could potentially win seven to even nine wins. Now, nine wins is pushing it even if you include a bowl win, but it is a possibility.
However, I’m giving Arkansas seven wins for the season. As we talked about at the top they have three wins in the bank already and they get some favorable games at home, as well.
This year, they get TCU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Missouri at home. They could run the table and maybe pull off a win or two on the road at Ole Miss or at South Carolina.
So, that’s why I say this is an Arkansas team that could surprise and win more than what is expected of them.
All in all, it should be interesting to see how they perform and how the fans and media react if Bret Bielema leads them to yet another around .500 type year. If Arkansas does keep him around next year, well, that hot seat will be on fire next year.
