This week the games that are apart of our free parlay are Iowa vs. Maryland and Georgia vs. Arkansas. I feel it’s a great spot for both favorites to come away with a much needed conference win.

Game #1 – Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Maryland Terrapins

NCAA Football Point Spread: Maryland –4.5
NCAA Football Over/Under: 51.5 Points

Matchup | Preview

The Maryland Terrapins 4-2 (1-1 Big Ten) were dominated at home by OSU (52-24) two weeks ago. They were off last week and have a lot of time to prepare for the Iowa Hawkeyes 5-1 (2-0 Big Ten).

Maryland also lost against WVU (40-37) earlier in the season. The Terrapins have struggled against teams that can put up points, but the Hawkeyes are below average on offense (26.3 PPG – 89th).

Iowa is averaging 230.0 PYPG (72nd) and 151.3 RYPG (83rd). Mark Weisman is the power horse on Iowa and he already has 349 rushing yards (8 TD’s) on 103 carries. He is a power RB, but can’t catch well.

The Hawkeyes will likely pound the rock with Weisman, as Maryland allows 212.0 RYPG (104th). Maryland is better at stopping the pass (239.2 PYPG – 69th) and will have to focus on shutting Weisman down.

I’ve been impressed with the Terrapins offense this season. They only average 259.3 PYPG (49th) and 140.3 RYPG (97th), but they have had no problem scoring points (34.7 PPG – 38th).

Iowa ranks 41st against the run (130.3 RYPG) and 24th against the pass (200.3 PYPG). They’re only allowing 19.2 PPG (19th), but the problem I have is that the schedule has been very kind to them thus far.

So far the Hawkeyes are 2-0 on the road with wins over Pittsburgh (24-20) and Purdue (24-10). Those are solid wins, but this will be their toughest test, especially since Maryland has had a week off.

Maryland has to stop Weisman and force Jake Rudock to beat them. C.J. Brown will have to carry his team like he has all season, but if he comes to play the Terrapins will outscore the Hawkeyes by a TD.

NCAA Football Pick: Bet on the Terrapins to cover the –4.5 spread at home.

Game #2 – Georgia Bulldogs vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

NCAA Football Point Spread: Georgia –4
NCAA Football Over/Under: 58.5 Points

Matchup | Preview

We have two of the best rushing teams in the nation. The Georgia Bulldogs 5-1 (3-1 SEC) have one loss on the season, which came against South Carolina (38-35), but other than that they’ve been perfect.

The Arkansas Razorbacks 3-3 (0-3 SEC) are winless in the SEC with losses to Auburn (45-21), Texas A&M (35-28) and Alabama (14-13). This team hasn’t folded and just played Bama extremely tough.

[dfads params=’groups=63739&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Georgia just blanked Mizzou (34-0) in their first game without Todd Gurley. The offense played well, but the defense was even better. They’ll need to play like that again to beat Arkansas on the road.

Arkansas ranks 11th in rushing yards (278.7 RYPG) and Georgia ranks right behind them (275.7 RYPG – 12th). Neither of these teams passes the football well, so expect a heavy dose of running.

Both teams rank outside of the top 100 in passing yards, as the Razorbacks average 180.8 PYPG (107th) and the Bulldogs average 170.0 PYPG (112th), which is real poor for two SEC teams.

Nick Chubb is averaging 5.3 YPC and has the speed to burn defenders. Losing Gurley hurts this team, but right now Georgia is playing great football and they’re more talented than Arkansas.

The Razorbacks may surprise some teams with their rushing attack, but the Bulldogs are ranked 12th at stopping the run (101.7 RYPG). You have the beat Georgia through the air and Arkansas can’t.

NCAA Football Pick: Bet on the Bulldogs to cover ATS on the road.
