Tennessee vs. UCLA Free NCAA Football Pick

Free Pick For Monday College Football – UCLA vs. Tenn

NCAA-F |  Sep 01
Tennessee U vs. UCLA

Steve Janus Sports Picks

One of the best early match ups in college football comes on Monday night, September 1st as the UCLA Bruins host the 18th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers. A key game for both schools, Tennessee will be out to prove that they deserve their preseason rank, while UCLA wants badly to put a disappointing 6-6 season behind them so they can become the power in the PAC 10 that everyone thought they would be last season.

Utah State vs. UNLV Saturday Free Pick

Utah State vs. UNLV Saturday Free Pick

Doc Sports Free Daily Sports Pick – Saturday, August 30, 2008
Utah State vs. UNLV (NCAAF) – Aug 30, 2008 10:00 PM EDT
Play: Point Spread: -12.5/-105 UNLV  Pick Title:

Free Pick from Doc’s Sports. #102 Take UNLV over Utah State

Take UNLV over Utah State (Saturday 10:00 pm) The Rebels should be a much improved team in 2008 and will get off to a good start by knocking off the Aggies, a team that beat last year in Logan, 23-16. The Rebels return all of their offensive playmakers from 2007 and should be able to frustrate teams with the spread offense. They ran the ball really well last year against Utah State going for 173 yards on the ground and 4.6 yards per carry. The Aggies are predicted to finish last in a very competitive WAC Conference and must replace their quarterback and top receiver from 2007. Vegas jumps out early and will cruise to a much needed victory in the opener. This is a must win game for the Rebels if they want to go bowling and they will make a statement. Bills vs. Redskins NFL PreSeason Free Pick

Saturday NFL with the Bills at the Skins

BetUS NFL odds: WASHINGTON -5.5, Total 36
NOTABLE STAT: Bills were 30th in NFL in scoring in 2007 (15.8 ppg)
KEY NFL FOOTBALL BETTING TREND: Washington is 4-9 SU in its last 13 pre-season

The Washington Redskins (9-7 SU, 7-7-2 ATS in 2007 regular season) will have a “game in hand” when they take to the field on Saturday (August 9) to tackle the Buffalo Bills (7-9, 10-6 ATS) in a pre-season matchup that is scheduled for 7 PM ET kickoff at FedEx Field in Landover, MD, just outside the nation’s capital.

In the BetUS NFL pre-season betting odds, the Redskins are listed as a 5.5-point favorite, with the total posted at 36 points.

Here are some NFL football wagering trends as they relate to this NFL betting matchup:

* BUF has lost five of its last seven games SU
* BUF has lost six of its last nine road games SU
* BUF has covered four of its last six road games
* BUF has played five of its last six road games UNDER the total
* WASH has won and covered four of its last five games SU
* WASH has won four of its last six home games SU
* WASH has played eight of its last 12 games OVER the total
* BUF has played nine of its last 12 pre-season games UNDER the total
* WASH has lost nine of its last 13 pre-season games SU

There’s perhaps a little edge for the Redskins here, as they have played a pre-season game, beating the Colts 30-16 at the Hall of Fame Game in Canton on Sunday. So they have already had a look at their draftees, undrafted free agents, and other newcomers, have given Jason Campbell a taste of what their new West Coast offense will feel like under fire, and the league has given brand-new head coach Jim Zorn a baptism of sorts.

But two of the rookies are not going to make an impact in this game. Malcolm Kelly, drafted out of Oklahoma, just had arthroscopic surgery on his knee, and fellow wide receiver Devin Thomas of Michigan State has a hamstring problem. That thins out the options, but it didn’t seem to have a big effect last Sunday. James Thrash is making a bid to be the main man in the three-WR sets, and people like Billy McMullen and Maurice Mann are hungry, and those will be a guys to watch in this game.

There really is no quarterback controversy in Washington – yet. Campbell was 5-for-5 with a TD pass in last week’s game. But Todd Collins, who completed 64% of his passes in leading the ‘Skins to the playoffs and signed for $9 million over three years in the off-season, will be ready nonetheless. And Colt Brennan, out of Hawaii, might be a decent fit in Zorn’s offense.

Buffalo is looking for improvement in its passing game and that is why the Bills drafted big (6’6″) receiver James Hardy out of Indiana, but Hardy may see limited time here because he sat out five days of camp with hamstring problems. For a team that is already holding out Josh Reed, and will be taking it easy with Lee Evans, that might cut down on the options for Trent Edwards and J.P. Losman, not to mention the other QB’s who may see time, Matt Baker and Gibran Hamdan. It will be interesting to see how much time first-round pick Leodis McKelvin gets, especially with Donte Whitmer being likely held out of action.

These aren’t the days of Marv Levy, when the Bills used to literally crawl through pre-season games. But Buffalo still doesn’t try especially hard. Let’s go with Washington, the 5.5-point favorite in the BetUS NFL pre-season football betting odds.

JAY’S PLAY: WASHINGTON -5.5 ** (Graded on a scale of 1-4 stars)

Rams vs. Titans Betting Preview | Pick

Saturday NFL Action – St. Louis vs. Tennessee

The St. Louis Rams face the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night in the first NFL Pre-season game for both teams. There are definitely some things for online NFL betting fans to pay attention to in this game as the Rams were hit by injuries to their offensive line last season. Now St. Louis has to deal with hold out running back Steven Jackson.

Jackson was hurt for most of last year. Holding out after being injured the year before probably isn’t the wisest move on Jackson’s part. But he did account for a lot of the offense when he was in the huddle last season. It will be interesting to see who the Rams start in place of Jackson on Saturday.

The Tennessee Titans are all about Vince Young. They sort of have to be after proclaiming him the next coming of Randall Cunningham. Okay, maybe it wasn’t the Titans that did that, but they aren’t living down the expectations regarding Young.

For online betting fans, the Titans could prove to be very capable at making profits this season. They should be better defensively and another year under Young’s belt has to be a good thing.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook NFL betting odds for this game.

St. Louis Rams + 3 – 110 + 130 O 33 – 110
Tennessee Titans – 3 – 110 – 150 U 33 – 110

This is an NFL Pre-season game. To me that means it’s never a good idea to put up more money than you have to in order to win an online bet. The St. Louis Rams are + 130 on the BetUS online sportsbook. The Tennessee Titans are – 150.

Even though the Rams would need the three points in a regular season game, I don’t see them as underdogs in this game. The Rams have a lot more to work to do then the Titans at this point. I don’t expect to even see Vince Young take a snap. If he does in this game, then I guarantee you he will be pulled after the first series.

St. Louis needs to find a suitable quarterback to back-up Marc Bulger. Bulger has a tendency to get hurt. Bruce Gradkowski, who started a few games for John Gruden at Tampa Bay in 2006, could not only be a good back-up but he might battle Bulger for the starting job.

Who knows? I expect the Rams to come out swinging in this game. These two teams have been practicing against each other all week. They’ve already gotten into a few scuffles.

Why not take the long shot at the higher online wagering odds to win this game when there really isn’t a clear winner?

That’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to make an online bet on the St. Louis Rams to win this game straight-up at the BetUS online wagering odds of + 130.

The 2008 NFL betting season is coming, and if you like to bet on the NFL, you are in the best possible place for online betting.
