2014 NFC South Division Preview
The unpredictable NFC South looks to be a crapshoot again in 2014 – no team has repeated as champion in this division since 2002 – bad luck for Carolina who went 12-4 last year and claimed the crown. The Saints will be better and will be looking to knock off the Panthers who again have a solid lineup – top to bottom.
Pittsburgh was the top team in the Big East last year in the regular season with a conference record of 15-3, but an early exit in the conference tournament with a 76-74 loss to Connecticut as a 5.5-point favorite helped set the stage for an even more disappointing early exit from the NCAA Tournament.
Arguably, there was no busier team this offseason than the Florida Panthers in terms of sheer volume. General manager Dale Tallon got busy, acquiring Jose Theodore, Brian Campbell, Ed Jovanovski, Scottie Upshall, Tomas Kopecky, Tomas Fleischmann, Kris Versteeg and Sean Bergenheim.
Well, we can say one thing about the Carolina Panthers going into the 2011 season – they did bring in what promises to be in a good coaching staff – Ron Rivera as Head Coach, Sean McDermott (of the Eagles) as Defensive Coordinator and Rob Chudzinski (of the Chargers) to run the offense.
