The Dolphins are a team on the brink of disaster, losers of four straight and out the playoff race, Miami will try to garner a little respect when they face the Charger on Sunday.
Dysfunction Bowl – Miami Meets Tampa in Battle of the Media Circuses
Yes – Miami Dolphins will play football this week – on the field and not in the locker rooms and press areas of Raymond James Stadium. The circuses that have been the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come together on the NFL’s Monday Night schedule.
Teams Moving in Opposite Directions Meet Halloween Night
The Cincinnati Bengals, winners of four straight games will attempt to keep their two game lead in the AFC North when they meet the Miami Dolphins who have been blowing leads the last few weeks and are riding a four game losing streak.
With Tom Brady having his worst year ever it seems like the AFC East is up for grabs this season – but someone has to take it from the Patriots. Early on it looked like the Miami Dolphins could be the one to challenge but they have now lost three straight after a promising start to the season – losing to Buffalo at home last week really hurts.
The Miami Dolphins were rolling along before dropping consecutive games leading into their break, and nearly got past Baltimore for a 4-1 start, but instead they’ve had a week to think about that disappointing loss, and will look to take their frustrations out on a banged up Buffalo Bills squad.
This is definitely not among the marquee matchups but based on the oddmakers outlook it looks like everyone is expecting a very close contest between these two teams to start the season.
The last time the Dolphins made it to the playoffs was in 2008 when they went 11-5 and won the AFC East. What made that season so impressive was the fact that they only won one game the year before.
The Dolphins are still lingering on the edge of the playoff picture while the Bills have fallen from relevance, if they ever really were. Doesn’t make for fantastic action but at least these teams are division rivals.

Buffalo
The Bills had their annual game in Toronto last week and it was nothing to be proud of. They got spanked by Seattle and now hit the road to play Miami with nothing to play for other than pride.
Is this the kind of team you think will give a max effort under those circumstances? Will they play hard to try and save their coach?…
Though C.J. Spiller went over 1000 yards with another nice game the Bills struggled on offense.
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had another uneven game, throwing more picks than touchdown passes while completing just 55% of his passes. It seems that the investment the Bills made in him was a poor one and there is already talk about them finding a new QB this offseason…
In a game where they gave up 50 points you can’t pin it all on the offense.
After the terrible performance last week they are now second worst in the league in points allowed. The only saving grace is that Miami is hardly an offensive powerhouse.
This one should be close.

The Dolphins are clinging to a sliver of playoff hope right now. They need to win out and get a lot of help but it is still possible…technically. This is all pretty amazing given they have won just 2 of their last 7 games.
Last week’s victory against Jacksonville was hardly the stuff of legend either as Jacksonville is probably the worst team in the league…
A good sign was that QB Ryan Tannehill has the best game of his rookie season to date. Helped by a solid running game, including his own scampers, Tannehill completed nearly 80% of his passes and didn’t turn the ball over.
Reggie Bush had his first 100 yard game since week 2 and that was all that was needed to beat a very weak Jaguars team…
Miami has covered their last three at home and this is another good situation to back the Phish.
They have way more riding on this game than their opponent and their 8th ranked rush defense should make things difficult for Buffalo.
You might want to pay a little extra to get Miami at -3 but I still like them at the current number.
Spread Pick: Miami -4

Miami is about where we expected they would be as we close out the first quarter of the season on Sunday.
As I start writing this I am struck by the fact that the only reason we know anything about this team is because of Hard Knocks – if people still watch it (there is no juice with the franchise right now).
The battle to stay out of the basement in the AFC East will take place on Sunday, as the Buffalo Bills look to avoid their seventh straight loss while avenging a 35-8 pummeling in Week 11, when they host the Miami Dolphins in “The Queen City.”
The Philadelphia Eagles will try and snap a two-game skid when they travel to Sun Life Stadium this Sunday afternoon to take on the Miami Dolphins, who have won have won four of their last five games.
The Miami Dolphins bring a three-game winning streak into Cowboy Stadium for a Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, who have strung together three victories of their own. Game time is set for 4:15 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on CBS.
Is Chad Henne the answer for the Dolphins at QB? He had an up and down season last year and there have been rumblings that the fish may go out and get a QB when free agency begins and Vince Young is a player being mentioned.
