Of course, that’s not the kind of thing that guarantees success in the Big Ten, as Wisconsin was quick to remind them a week ago when they came to Ann Arbor and left with a 73-61 victory.
Duke has had a hot hand lately, shooting 52% against NC-Asheville, 52.5% against Xavier and 54.5% against Loyola. Against Virginia Tech in its last outing, though, the Blue Devils hit less than 41% of their shots. They won the game with defense, holding the Hokies to just 13 points and 33% shooting in the second half.

Michigan finds itself building a winner quicker than many thought possible under coach John Beilein, who like Rich Rodriguez came to Ann Arbor from West Virginia and sought to remake the program. Wisconsin will try to upset the applecart with the fundamental style of play it exhibits under Bo Ryan.
Illinois is undergoing a revitalization of its program under Bruce Weber this year, and it’s no wonder, with much-improved guard play. The Illini has tallied almost 20 assists per game, and the ball movement which has been so successful in Weber’s motion offense has resulted in 49% shooting accuracy.
