Panthers vs Bears NFL Football Spread/Handicapping
This year has been a huge disappointment for Carolina. They were supposed to be building off of last year’s surprising success to become at least a threat in the NFC South.

With Cam Newton leading the way the Carolina Panthers were among the most improved teams of 2011.
The Saints (12-3) have already wrapped up the NFC South and the 3rd seed in the playoffs, but if they win this game and San Francisco loses to St. Louis New Orleans will have the 2nd seed and a bye in the first round in the post season.
An intriguing AFC South battle comes our way on Sunday – intriguing not because the two teams are grappling for top spot but intriguing because both teams are far from where most thought they would be at this point of the season.
The Panthers (2-8) are coming off a tough loss where they gave up a big lead and ended up giving up 49 points.
After last week’s 4 INT game Washington (3-2) head coach Mike Shanahan made a switch and John Beck, who has not started a NFL game since 2007, will get the starting nod under center taking over for Rex Grossman.
Many though that the Falcons (2-3) would have an unstoppable offense after they moved up in the draft to take WR Julio Jones, but that has not been the case this season, as they only rank 14th in the league in passing yards per game and they are also having problems running the ball.
Cam Newton has gotten off to a stellar rookie season, but even though he has passed for 1,386 yards with 5 TD’s he has been picked off 5 times and only led the Panthers to one win.
In the Carolina Panthers’ first two games, rookie quarterback Cam Newton dominated but his team lost. Last week against Jacksonville, Newton came back to Earth but the Panthers won. Which version of Newton – and the Panthers – will we see when they visit Soldier Field and the Chicago Bears this week?
Could it be that a Panthers vs. Cardinals game may be interesting? It’s true, two highly sought after quarterbacks will make their debut with their new teams.
Well, we can say one thing about the Carolina Panthers going into the 2011 season – they did bring in what promises to be in a good coaching staff – Ron Rivera as Head Coach, Sean McDermott (of the Eagles) as Defensive Coordinator and Rob Chudzinski (of the Chargers) to run the offense.
