MLB news: Roy Halladay leaves start with heat exhaustion;
Roy Halladay isn’t indestructible after all. Who knew? The Philadelphia Phillies ace left his start against the Chicago Cubs Monday with heat exhaustion.
He was in obvious discomfort in the fifth inning after allowing a single to Starlin Castro.
A trainer came out to visit him and he was immediately taken out of the game.
The game-time temperature at Chicago’s Wrigley Field was 91 degrees with the humidity making it feel even hotter. Halladay insists that he will make his next start, and a Phillies spokesman said he will “absolutely” make his next scheduled start.
