Cappers Picks NFL Power Rankings – Week 7 – October 15th 2013

Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 7

NFL Power Rankings – Where Every Team Sits After Week 6

Week 6 of the NFL season is done – a few more teams fell from the undefeated ranks – only two unbeaten teams remain and of course, they are your top 2. There has been some movement in the Rankings since last week – some continue to plummet like the Texans and the Falcons while others continue to ascend like the Chiefs.

Let`s take a look at where every teams stands in this week`s edition of Dave B`s Power Rankings

1. BRONCOS (Last Week: 1)

The Jags hung with the Broncos but as all good teams do, Denver pulled away and posted victory. Denver is still the class of the league and a deserving #1 on the Rankings. I, like most can’t wait for next week’s game at Indianapolis.

2. CHIEFS (Last Week: 3)

Defense continues to be a key for this team. They sacked Terelle Pryor 10 times Sunday and let Jamaal Charles do the rest. A sign of a top 3 team – they can win when the QB struggles just like the Chiefs did against Oakland Sunday. They have Houston, Cleveland and Buffalo up the next few weeks before they play Denver in Week 10.

3. PATRIOTS (Last Week: 6)

Brady manufactured a terrific win against the Saints Sunday – this team will always be elite with Tom Terrific at the helm. And how about the defense Sunday? They limited Drew Brees to 236 yards passing and they held Jimmy Graham without a catch – impressive indeed.

4. SEAHAWKS (Last Week: 5)

11 straight home wins and counting for the Seahawks! They didn’t play exceptionally well in a win against Tennessee, but won just the same. They are likely in for a tough Thursday nighter in Arizona but are still the class of the NFC.

5. SAINTS (Last Week: 2)

Jimmy Graham got shut out, Drew Brees passed for only 236 yards and the Saints still should have beaten the Patriots at Foxboro. This team is legit and look like the second best team in the NFL easily.

6. COLTS (Last Week: 4)

The Colts didn’t do much against the Chargers Monday night – zero touchdowns in their tuneup for their Week 7 showdown with Denver. They were victim of a great effort and game plan by the Chargers – I still have faith that they are still an elite team.

7. 49ERS (Last Week’s Ranking: 7)

The Niners have finally gotten back to the formula that made them one of the best last season – Frank Gore rumbled for over 100 yards, Colin Kaepernick was efficient for the offense and the defense forced their share of turnovers against Arizona. They hold steady this week with thoughts of climbing to a top 5 spot very soon.

8. PACKERS (Last Week: 9)

Beat the Ravens with Clay Matthews out and James Jones and Randall Cobb going down with injury. Eddie Lacy stepped up and generated 120 yards rushing with a TD. The Packers with a rushing game? Could be scary.

9. LIONS (Last Week: 10)

Reggie Bush continues to be the difference maker on this team – another 135 total yards against Cleveland Sunday. With Calvin Johnson still hampered some guy named Joseph Fauria stepped up with three TDs. Its proof that Matt Stafford can make anyone look good. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

10. BENGALS (Last Week: 8)

Barely beat the shorthanded Bills Sunday to take over top spot in the AFC North. Andy Dalton finally had a good day – yay! 337 yards and three TDs helped his team win – the vaunted defense however was a bit of a disappointment.

11. BEARS (Last Week: 13)

The Bears return to the dirty dozen this week on the heels of a win over the hapless Giants. Jay Cutler continues to play smarter and hasn’t thrown a pick in the last two games. With stats like that you have to figure the Bears emerge in the NHL North.

12. RAVENS (Last Week: 11)

It’s a bit generous to have the Ravens in the top 12 especially when Ray Rice only generates 24 yards rushing. Nobody can put their finger on Baltimore – no identity means a down year for the previously stout Ravens.

13. DOLPHINS (Last Week: 12)
14. TITANS (Last Week: 14)
15. COWBOYS (Last Week: 15)
16. EAGLES (Last Week: 19)
17. CHARGERS (Last Week: 25)
18. RAMS (Last Week: 21)
19. JETS (Last Week: 20)
20. CARDINALS (Last Week: 17)
21. BROWNS (Last Week: 18)
22. PANTHERS (Last Week: 28)
23. RAIDERS (Last Week 24)
24. TEXANS (Last Week: 16)
25. BILLS (Last Week: 26)
26. FALCONS (Last Week: 22)
27. STEELERS (Last Week: 29)
28. REDSKINS (Last Week: 23)
29. VIKINGS (Last Week: 27)
30. GIANTS (Last Week 30)
31. BUCCANEERS (Last Week: 31)
32. JAGUARS (Last Week: 32)
