There have been lots of disappointments in Brazil but Costa Rica is not among them. With upset victories over Uruguay and Italy they have already punched their ticket to the next round of action.
The combined score of their games has been 4-1 and though nobody is saying they are a legitimate contender they could give some trouble to whomever they face in the knockout stage.
Even though the outcome of this one is not very consequential the Ticos should be up for a game against the vaunted Lions.
Despite their impressive play Costa Rica is listed as the underdog in this contest. From what we have seen in the pitch there is no justification for that which makes me believe these odds are more about forecasting the market than the game.

Costa Rica is in some new territory but as much as anything through their first two matches they have shown calm and patience.
It should serve them well against England.
England
The Brits continue to disappoint their fans with another lackluster World Cup showing.
Their group was challenging but not impossible and they are on the cusp of heading home without a victory.
They have endured 2-1 losses to Italy and Uruguay, not embarrassments but the hope that their might be a new generation of players with the skill to push the club forward was a little premature. Perhaps that youn group is ready to make more significant contributions and play winning football at Euro 2016.
As expressed above I think the odds for this contest are off.
Sure these clubs could play a hundred times and England deserve to be the favourite in each one but under these circumstances I don’t see how you can make the argument unless you are predicting the action or have a lot lof other bets riding on results you are trying to balance.
There is talent on the UK side but it hasn’t shone through yet.

Can the Ticos really storm through the group stage unscathed. They have done the hard part already but I think they have another strong game inside them, strong enough to keep England out of the win column.
There is no value with the UK so if you don’t agree with me just take a pass.
