Belgium
Belgium certainly looks like the real deal on paper as they have a number of players that play for the top clubs in Europe.
In warmup matches over the last month they have looked good too with an 8-1 goal differential against the likes of Sweden, Luxemboug and Tunisia.
This should be the easiest game for Belgium in this entire tournament.
As you can see by the odds a loss would be quite the upset but don’t get too excited because of the draw factor. If somehow Algeria gets on the board first they will definitely try and stall out the aggressive Belgians.

This is the first game of the tournament for Belgium and it might be worth sitting it out to see how they respond to the big stage.
Algeria
The key for Algeria will be playing a strong defensive game as they hope to somehow advance past the group stage of the World Cup for the very first time.
The one thing they have going for them is some success heading into the tournament with wins against Slovenia, Armenia and Romania.
I know those are not elite teams but they are from Europe and have provided a sampling of the size and style of play they are likely to see from Belgium.
The Algerians have to be hoping that the Belgians are underestimating them a little bit.
Algeria has scored in 12 straight matches which is pretty good for a team that is known to have a defensive focus.
For me that leads me to believe that they just might be able to have success on the counterattack, even if it is just once. That +575 is super tempting, especially after watching Costa Rica dump Uruguay on Saturday.
This is a long tournament though and you want to make sure you still have some capital when we get to the knockout stage.
If you can’t tell by the score prediction I think there is a lot of value on the over for this one. Belgium has loads of talent and I think they can have a spurt that will break this game open.
As long as Algeria gets on the board with one I think we can count on this one going ever without much concern.
