Week 17 NFL Spread: Giants vs. Vikings

Point spread and prediction for the week 17 NFL clash between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings plus the betting spreads, and betting trends for nfl football gambling…

NFL Week 17 Must Win Giants @ Vikings

The New York Giants travel to Minnesota this Sunday with nothing to gain in beating the Vikings. The Giants secured home field advantage through-out the playoffs by taking down the Carolina Panthers in their last game. They also suffered some injuries in that game. So, I doubt that coach Tom Coughlin will keep his starters in for very long, if he starts them at all, against a hungry Vikings’ squad. Sports betting fans have been making BetUS online football betting wagers on the Giants all season. More often than not, they’ve won because the G-Men are 11 and 4 against the BetUS online betting spread.

The Minnesota Vikings just needed to beat the visiting Atlanta Falcons last Sunday in order to make it to the playoffs. Well, they didn’t. They’re sort of lucky in the sense that the Giants shouldn’t be pushing too hard in this game. If Minnesota loses this game against a Giants team that’s resting their starters, then they don’t deserve to go to the playoffs. The Vikings have to just play well enough to win. They have a lot of motivation going into this game and that’s usually a good sign to football betting fans, but Minnesota has fallen on hard times during this season. Their record is 9 and 6 straight-up but against the BetUS online wagering spread they are only 6 and 9.

Here are the BetUS online betting odds for this game.

New York Giants + 6 ½ – 110 O 42 – 110
Minnesota Vikings – 6 ½ – 110 U 42 – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The New York Giants are 20 and 6 against the spread in their last 26 games on the road.
The Under is 7 and 2 in the New York Giants last 9 games on the road.
The Minnesota Vikings are 3 and 7 against the spread in their last 10 games as the favorite.
The Under is 8-3-1 in the Minnesota Vikings last 12 games at home versus a team with a winning record.

The Vikings have every reason to win and no reason to lose in this game. But I’m not sold on them. They could flat out choke and lose to the Giants’ second stringers.

That’s how bad things have gotten at times this season for the Minnesota Vikings. I just don’t believe that they can cover a 6 ½ point spread. But because the Giants are resting their starters, I can’t exactly take the G-Men against the spread either.

That leaves me with contemplating the BetUS Total. To me, it’s simple. The Vikings will be trying to score, but the Giants probably won’t be able to score. Also, the Vikings are going to use their running game every time they have the ball.

I’m making an online bet on the game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings to go under the 42 point BetUS online sportsbook total.
