Chargers vs. Saints Week 8 Spread

Point spread for the week 8 NFL clash between the San Diego Chargers and the New Orleans Saints plus the betting spreads, and betting trends for nfl football gambling.

Week 8 – San Diego Chargers vs. New Orleans Saints

The Chargers and Saints battle it out this Sunday in London, England, as good will NFL ambassadors. I’m sure coaches Norv Turner and Sean Payton are ecstatic about the prospect of flying to London, both teams already have, I’m sure, getting some practice time in among the various distractions, and then taking the field and trying to secure a victory in a must win situation for both teams.

Both San Diego and New Orleans have been awful to online betting fans recently. This past Sunday the Chargers and Saints both got obliterated against the BetUS online wagering spread. The Chargers should have won their game against the Buffalo Bills on the road. The Saints are just a mess. The wheels are off in New Orleans. Reggie Bush is hurt, Jeremy Shockey is complaining, and the Saints’ staff cut the starting punter a day after a horrible defeat to the Carolina Panthers.

This is going to be a difficult game to call as both teams are just awful right now.

Here are the BetUS Sportsbook online NFL odds for this game:

Kick-off: 10/26/2008 1:00 pm est.

San Diego Chargers – 3 – 120 – 170 O 47 – 110
New Orleans Saints + 3 Ev + 150 U 47 – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game:

The San Diego Chargers are 6 and 1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
The San Diego Chargers are 42-18-3 against the spread in their last 63 games on grass.
The New Orleans Saints are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games following an against the spread loss.
The Over is 4 and 1 in the Saints last 5 games following an against the spread loss.

There’s really no need to try and figure out who is going to win this game against the BetUS online betting spread. Neither the Saints nor the Chargers have proven to be reliable this season.

The Saints are reeling after the loss of Reggie Bush but Drew Brees should be more comfortable with Marques Colston this Sunday as opposed to last Sunday. Another week might be all that Colston and Brees need to get their timing back. Shockey’s complaining is meaningful but Coach Payton should be able to deflect that. I expect the Saints to do better on offense this Sunday than they did last Sunday.

The Chargers will put up a lot of points. They may not win the game because they haven’t often this season, but they should score early and often against that porous Saints defense. The Saints are good against the run, but against the pass they’ve been atrocious this season – – again.

So all of this adds up to the Chargers probably covering against the BetUS online sportsbook betting spread.

NFL Week 8 Prediction:

In any case I’ll be playing the over in this game.
I see the Saints putting up around 21 to 24 and the Chargers putting up between 31 to 42.
