The Flyers have really turned their season around, though have lost three of their last four games following a stretch in which they had won 12 of 15 games, while the Blues have wins in 11 of their last 15.

On March 22, these teams met for the first time since 2011, and it was the Flyers that prevailed in a somewhat surprising result, claiming a 4-1 victory.

The Blues held a 1-0 lead after the first period on a shorthanded goal by Jaden Schwartz, but the Flyers didn’t take long to respond in the second frame, with Scott Hartnell scoring on the power play just 57 seconds in. Philadelphia would score once more in the second, then twice in the third to ice the win.

The team’s top line of Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek, and Hartnell combined for six points, with each player tallying two. Steve Mason was between the pipes for the Flyers, and stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced. Ryan Miller was in goal for the Blues and let 15 of the 18 shots he faced get by him.

The result isn’t out of the ordinary for Miller, who has struggled against the Flyers in his career. In 30 career appearances against them, Miller has posted a 3.09 GAA and a .900 save percentage.

Miller’s bit off his game of late, posting a 3.15 GAA with a very pedestrian .880 save percentage of his last five starts. Drawing the Flyers again for the second time in 10 days likely isn’t a cure for Miller’s recent struggles.

Flyers captain Claude Giroux has picked up his play of late, recording 41 points in 34 games in calendar 2014.

Goals haven’t been hard to come by for either side of late. The last three games for St. Louis has seen the team score 12 times while surrendering eight goals, with each of those three games playing over the total.

Scoring has also picked up at the Scottrade Center. The over has cashed in seven of the last 10 times the Blues have played at home, with no fewer than five goals being scored in nine of those 10 contests.

Meanwhile, the Flyers have really turned their season around on the back of an improved offense. In their last nine games, the team has produced an average of 3.2 goals per game. They’ve really gotten on opposing goalies in that time, averaging 33.8 shots on goal.

The over is 18-5-3 in the Flyers’ last 26 road games, and 5-2 in the Blues’ last seven home games.

The play: Over 5.5
