The Habs have absolutely dominated the Kings recently in Montreal winning seven straight matchups at the Bell Center and winning 12 of 13 games in their home building dating back to 2003.

The Kings have been hot – losing once in regulation in their last 10 games while the Canadiens have climbed to within one point of Boston in the Eastern Conference standings on the heels of a 9-0-1 stretch.

The Los Angeles Kings haven’t missed a beat since Jonathan Quick went down – the team is 8-1-3 since their All-World goaltender went down with injury. Ben Scrivens, the ex-Maple Leaf has been terrific – going 6-1-3 with a 1.47 goals-against average in his last 10 starts and rookie Martin Jones who has started the last two games for the Kings has won both while posting a 0.97 GAA and .955 save percentage. It is unclear who will start Tuesday for Los Angeles between the pipes but it is clear that they are in good hands either way.

The Kings have been just OK offensively averaging 2.47 goals per game. The Kings enter Tuesday night’s game with a serious lack of players on the Hot List. Dustin Brown has two points in two games, Tyler Toffoli has three points in three games and Drew Doughty has two points in three games – that’s about it for Los Angeles. Jeff Carter has hit the skids and will need to get it going as we approach Christmas – he has just one point in his last four games.

There is no hotter team in the NHL than the Montreal Canadiens right now – a 9-0-1 stretch has them on the heels of the Bruins in the Conference and looking like a legitimate threat to go a ways in the NHL this year. As for their recent surge – everything is going well on offense and defense for this team.

Carey Price has been terrific as of late going 7-1-1 in his last nine starts with a 1.54 GAA and .951 save percentage. Price has won each of his three career starts against Los Angeles with a 1.67 GAA. Backup Peter Budaj is 5-1-1 with a 1.80 GAA and .934 save percentage in his last seven starts. Like the Kings, it appears as though it won’t matter who starts between the pipes – their team will be in good hands.

Offensively the Habs are averaging a good 2.68 goals per game. Everybody is contributing including the fourth line of Brandon Prust, Ryan White and Travis Moen who combined for four points in a win Saturday. Brian Gionta has six points in six games, Amex Galchenyuk has three points in four games and Rafael Diaz has two points in three games. Daniele Briere is still a bit of a disappointment although his leadership cannot be overlooked.

A few trends to consider:
• Under is 15-4-7 in LA last 26 road games.
• Under is 7-2-3 in LA last 12 Tue. games.
• Under is 18-7-4 in LA last 29 vs. Atlantic.
• Under is 7-1 in MON last 8 vs. Pacific.
• MON are 3-10 in their last 13 Tue. games.
• Under is 36-14-9 in MON last 59 Tue. games.
• LA are 3-13 in the last 16 meetings.

I looked at the Under in this game – both teams are allowing just two goals apiece per game so far this year. Also Los Angeles hasn’t given up more than three goals in 15 straight, while Montreal hasn’t done so in 14 consecutive contests.

But something tells me there is going to be more than 5 scored in this game. That said it is hard to ignore what Montreal has done as of late. They are healthy, they are cohesive and they are on some sort of roll. Take the home team to stretch their win streak to six and to extend their impressive home domination of the Kings.

Pick: Montreal Canadiens -121
