After starting off the season 5-0 SU, they tumbled to four consecutive losses that started with an absolute blowout against New Orleans. Eli Manning, Steve Smith and Brandon Jacobs went from conquering hero’s to questionable characters in just a month, which stands as an eternity in the football timeline.

They still have time to turn things around, especially with the Cowboys and Eagles coming off losses. But they have to try and reclaim their honor while defrauding another team that is a letdown specialist from Atlanta.

Nothing has gone right for Eli and the Giants in terms of sports betting. They haven’t won in four games, and because of that, the Giants have fallen to 1-4 ATS in their last 5 tries. A 1-3-1 ATS home record does nothing to bolster confidence. Even worse, the Giants are winless in the last five times Atlanta has come to town.

I’ve lost faith in the Giants’ ability to depend on Brandon Jacobs to control the clock and move the chains because – let’s face it – they just don’t do it. If you have a running-back that’s bigger than most linebackers, don’t you pound him in to stacks of tacklers until he dies? Why does this not make sense all of a sudden to Tom Coughlin?

Injuries have been the arch nemesis of the Giants. But they finally have a shallow injury report with all injuries seemingly wiped off the board. Eli Manning’s foot shouldn’t be a concern, and the only major worry is Aaron Ross’s hamstring injury which may lead to coverage issues against a receiver corps that boasts Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White.

So it’s a good thing for Ross’s sake, and the Giants football betting faithful, that the Falcons are becoming a terrible passing team. Their road passing attack puts up just 241.4 passing yards per game, ranking them 10th in the league. Those are fine numbers, but weak opponents have helped boost the stats. The truth is that Matt Ryan doesn’t check off his defenders enough and stares at Tony G like he’s a naked Megan Fox trying to get open.

Matt Ryan, to me, is what Eli Manning was a few years ago. A young quarterback with too much hype and too much early success that was swamped by expectations and the pressure to win. He’s crumbling, just like Manning did years ago.

The Falcons may be 4-2 ATS overall, but they’re just 2-4 ATS on the road in six tries. Bet on Eli Manning as a more dependable passing threat as Matt Ryan gets a lesson from the sidelines that he sorely needs. His time will come, but it just isn’t right now.
