NFL Week 7 Sportsbook Wagering Review

In the words of legendary soul singer, Marvin Gaye, I’m sure NFL fans and bettors everywhere, want to know, ‘What’s Goin’ On?’

That’s right BetUS NFL Sportsbook wagering fanatics, I have to admit that despite recording a respectable 8-6 mark on all of my Week 7 NFL selections this past Sunday, to improve to a season total of 50-39 (56 percent) with all of my NFL Free Picks in the BetUS Locker Room this season, the 2008-09 NFL season has been one of the craziest in recent memory.

Numerous teams are performing in a ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ fashion this season, looking like a legitimate contender one week and a certified patsy the following week.

While this season has been fairly tough for bettors and handicappers alike to get a handle on, this Week 7 NFL review should help BetUS NFL wagering enthusiasts get a feel for how each team will perform in their respective Week 8 matchups.

With the 2008-09 season hitting the halfway mark this upcoming Sunday, let me get busy.

Rams 34 Cowboys 14

I called this game dead-on in the BetUS Sportsbook this week, knowing full-well that the Cowboys are now a mediocre bunch that needs to put their Super Bowl hopes on the backburner and concentrate on just reaching the postseason. The Rams on the other hand, look like a different team under new head coach Jim Haslett and should suddenly be taken very seriously.

Bills 23 Chargers 14

This game burnt me badly and likely a lot of NFL bettors everywhere. Buffalo looks very real while the Chargers have the look of a classic Norv Turner team. In other words, expect the Bolts to continue underachieving for the remainder of the regular season.

Panthers 30 Saints 7

I expected the Panthers to win this contest, but my goodness, the Saints are shockingly mediocre this season. I personally wouldn’t’ ‘bet the farm’ on either one of these clubs.

Ravens 27 Dolphins 13

I don’t think the rebuilding Dolphins have anything to be ashamed of in losing this contest. The Ravens have a powerful defense and an improving young quarterback in Joe Flacco while the Dolphins are two years away from really challenging for anything of significance.

Giants 29 49ers 17

The Giants won and covered as I expected, but clearly aren’t where they want to be. Besides their hiccup against the Browns last Monday night, New York has generally looked very solid.

Titans 34 Chiefs 10

What did you expect NFL bettors? The Titans have a powerful rushing attack, a strong defense and a competent quarterback in veteran Collins. The Chiefs have … well … a Hall of Fame tight end that wants out, a head case, quitter of a running back, big-time problems at quarterback and a non-existent defense. Did I cover all the bases?

Steelers 38 Bengals 10

Maybe I should just copy and paste the aforementioned paragraph! The Steelers are strong on both sides of the ball and the Bengals are … the Kansas City Chiefs’ twin brother.

Bears 48 Vikings 41

Despite the fact that I predicted this game correctly in the BetUS Locker Room last week, it’s easy to see both of these teams are headed nowhere fast.

Texans 28 Lions 21

The fact that the Texans had to struggle mightily in beating the lowly Lions says a lot about where they are headed despite the fact that they have now won consecutive games. Detroit is basically in the same boat as Kansas City and Cincinnati … just playing out their string of games in a totally lost season.

Raiders 16 Jets 13

Brett and the Jets burned a lot of folks in this contest and showed they are a mediocre bunch by losing to the downright atrocious Oakland Raiders. Forget Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas couldn’t save this bunch.

Packers 34 Colts 14

I keep saying Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the real deal. The Colts thought they had found their stride after last week’s resounding victory over the Baltimore Ravens, but apparently left it back in Indianapolis.

Redskins 14 Browns 11

The Redskins held true to form in winning another game – by a touchdown or less – as they have in each of their wins this season.

Buccaneers 20 Seahawks 10

The Buccaneers look like serious conference title contenders in the NFC while Seattle’s Mike Holmgren is going out with a whimper in his last season as head coach of the Seahawks.
