Its week TWO of the 2009 NFL season and we pick and preview all of the weekly matchups from an OVER/Under NFL betting perspective this season…

NFL Week 2 Preview – Sunday, September 20th

Week two in the NFL features a couple of great divisional NFL betting match-ups that might have some serious implications by the end of the season. The first is Seattle at San Francisco where the winner here will have the early edge for the NFC West title. Jerry Jones gets a chance to show off his new baby, Cowboys Stadium on Sunday night when the New York Giants come to town for a big NFC East showdown.

Here is a rundown of all the games and the current lines as supplied by betED.com Sportsbook & Casino.

LOOKING FOR THE BEST NFL CAPPERS ON THE PLANET FOR YOUR WEEK 2 GAMBLING PICKS??? —>

Carolina Panther at Atlanta Falcons (-6)
Current Over/Under 43

The pressure will be on Carolina QB Jake Delhomme to regain the confidence in his ability to lead this team. I do not see this happening against this tough Falcon defense. I like Atlanta and the under.

Minnesota Vikings (-9.5) at Detroit Lions
Current Over/Under 47

Minnesota has won 13 of the last 14 against the Lions so this sets up as another big day for Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson. Take the Vikings and the over.

Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers (-9)
Current Over/Under 42

The big question is can the Bengals bounce back after last week’s heartbreaking last second loss to Denver. If they can get to Aaron Rodgers they can keep this game close. Take the Bengals to cover and to score more than 7 to help push this game over.

Arizona Cardinals at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)
Current Over/Under 42.5

Both these teams’ offense struggled last week and I expect the same result this week. Take the Jags to get a much needed win at home, but this one will stay way under.

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-3)
Current Over/Under 39

The Raiders came very close to beating the Chargers on Monday night and should be able to beat the Chiefs on the road. They both showed an ability to score so take the over.

New England Patriots (-5) at N.Y. Jets
Current Over/Under 46.5

If Rex Ryan’s defense can get to Brady the Jets have a chance. Take New York to keep in within five. Both teams will still score their points so go with the over.

New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles
Current Over/Under

Due to McNabb’s status there currently are no lines on this game. Look for Jeff Garcia to lead a come from behind victory in another high scoring game.

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-6.5)
Current Over/Under 40.5

The Texans looked awful in their opener and the Titans are coming off of 10 days rest. Take Tennessee giving the points, but stay with the under.

St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins (-10)
Current Over/Under 36.5

The Redskins played tough against the Giants and St. Louis played just like they play last year, awful. I’m not sure Washington can cover the 10, but this game will stay under.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills (-4.5)
Current Over/Under 42

Buffalo needs to quickly recover Monday night’s painful loss and Tampa is the just what the doctor ordered. Bills cover and score enough to take this game over.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (-1.5)
Current Over/Under 39.5

The winner of this one grabs the early edge in the NFC West. I think the Seahawk’s offense will be a bit too much for the 49ers to handle. This one should go over as well.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) at Chicago Bears
Current Over/Under 37.5

The Steelers defense should be able to continue to make Jay Cutler’s life in Chicago miserable. Take Pittsburgh to cover in a low scoring game.

Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos (-3)
Current Over/Under 37

There will be no fluky touchdowns to save Denver this week as Cleveland gets a win on the road. Despite the low total, go with the under as well.

Baltimore Ravens at San Diego Chargers (-3.5)
Current Over/Under 40.5

The Ravens are loosening the reins on Flacco so I anticipate a shootout in San Diego. The Chargers hang on to win by less than three and this game goes way over.

N.Y. Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-3)
Current Over/Under 44

The Giants get the chance to ruin Jerry Jones debut of Cowboys Stadium in front of a huge crowd. The G-Men’s defense will win this one keeping it a low scoring affair.

Monday, Sept. 21

Indianapolis Colts (-3) at Miami Dolphins
Current Over/Under 42

If Miami can hold onto the ball they can keep this one close. In the end however, Manning will find a way to get the win. Take the Colts -3, but go with the over.

Week two will test the mettle of teams like Buffalo, Oakland, and Cincinnati and their ability to bounce back from a devastating loss in games they should have won.

Another interesting sidebar will be Mark Sanchez trying to do his best Tom Brady impersonation and pull off an upset win.
