Here’s a look at five favorites and five underdogs worthy of a closer gambling eye in Week 2.
NFL Gambling – Week 2 Favorites
New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings
Week 2 NFL Spread: Patriots -3
This line seems like a massive overreaction on the part of the oddsmakers. The Vikings ran away with their opening matchup, while the Patriots struggled with theirs. Things should be a lot different in Week 2 with the class of opponent changing greatly for both sides.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons
Week 2 NFL Spread: Cincinnati -5.5
The talk of the offseason was that the Falcons are poised for a bounce back season, and they very well might be, but this is going to be a tough road game for them. Last week’s contest was effectively their Super Bowl, and this is a definite letdown spot away from the Georgia Dome against a superior opponent.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. St. Louis Rams
Week 2 NFL Spread: Buccaneers -3.5
Week 1 overreactions are the norm in NFL betting, and here’s another spot where we can take advantage. The Buccaneers came out in their opener expecting a win to be handed to them with the Panthers playing without their starting quarterback in Cam Newton.
They’ll bounce back and put forth a better all-around effort against a Rams team that has few bullets in the chamber.
Seattle Seahawks at San Diego Chargers
Week 2 NFL Spread: Seahawks -5
The Seahawks may not have the advantage of getting this game at CenturyLink Field where they’re backed by the best home crowd in football, but they’re still going to field the superior squad in this one.
The Seahawks made short work of a Packers team that is better in just about every way last weekend.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Week 2 NFL Spread: Colts -2.5
The Eagles came out flat in their opener against the Jaguars, but were able to come out on top thanks to the ineptness of the team from Jacksonville. They won’t have the luxury of waiting around against a good Indianapolis team that gave the Broncos a run for their money in Week 1.
NFL Gambling – Week 2 Underdogs
Dallas Cowboys at Tennessee Titans
Week 2 NFL Spread: Cowboys +3.5
The Titans did a fine job on the road in a tough spot, taking down the Chiefs in decisive fashion, but that game told us more about the Chiefs than it did about the Titans. Kansas City was in a bad lookahead spot with a game in Denver on tap. As for the Cowboys, just about everything went wrong for them in their opener. With that said, their defense showed more fight than one might have expected. A better all-around performance should be in the cards.
Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants
Week 2 NFL Spread: Cardinals +1.5
Just as they did a year ago, the Giants looked absolutely lost in their opener. The offense has a new system to learn, so a repeat of last year’s early-season struggles could be in the works. As for the Cardinals, they remain one of the more underrated teams in football.
Oakland Raiders vs. Houston Texans
Week 2 NFL Spread: Raiders +3
At first glance, this looks like a game the Texans should take, even with first-overall pick Jadeveon Clowney out of the lineup.

With that said, this line looks too good. Something smells fishy, and that usually means trap.
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos
Week 2 NFL Spread: Chiefs +12
The Broncos easily beat the Colts on their home field in their opener, but they showed us something that was on display all too often last season – they couldn’t preserve big margins because their defense lets teams back into games. The Chiefs looked past last week’s matchup to this, now they need to make good on that wasted week.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Washington Redskins
Week 2 NFL Spread: Jaguars +6.5
The Jaguars looked like a greatly improved team in the first half of last week’s game against the Eagles. If Gus Bradley could bottle that up he surely would. The Redskins looked completely inept against the Texans, and the Jaguars aren’t all that different from the Texans right now, so a touchdown spread may be asking a bit much.
