New England vs. New York Week 10 NFL Lines & Spread Prediction

SNF – Patriots vs Jets Week 10 Gambling Preview

When the New England Patriots watched Eli Manning and the New York Giants march down the field and steal the game from them in a fashion eerily similar to the 2008 Super Bowl, it was as though the levee finally broke.

Ended was the Patriots’ NFL record run of 31 straight regular season home wins under Tom Brady, erased was New England’s ability to avoid dropping consecutive games under head coach Bill Belichick, with the second loss even more devastating considering it came at home.

Things won’t get any easier for Belichick and company this weekend, as the Sunday Night Football spotlight shines down on them as they are hurting the most. With consecutive losses following their bye, New England will be forced to travel to East Rutherford and on the division rival New York Jets just as they are beginning to heat up.

While the Patriots haven’t won a game in three straight weeks, New York has won their last three to pull in to a three-way tie for first place in the AFC East, with the Buffalo Bills also at the top heading in to week 10. With a renewed commitment to their running game, and the defense finally showing signs of performing at a high level once again, the Jets have taken off and will look to build on their momentum this weekend against their biggest rivals. Quarterback Mark Sanchez has played better in recent weeks after struggling early on, and completed nearly 75-percent of his passes for 230 yards and a touchdown in last Sunday’s win over the Bills. The Jets’ defense has given Brady fits in the past, and another big day from the secondary could very well push New York in to sole possession of first place in the division.

That scenario would have been regarded as highly unlikely as recently as two weeks ago, but with New England failing to capitalize on opportunities against both the Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers, the division is wide open.

Brady told reporters after the loss to New York that this would be a true test of the team’s character, and if the past is any indication, then the duo of both he and Belichick will find a way to come through.
