The Seattle Seahawks enter the game 3-0 off two utter blowouts while the Texans are coming off their first loss of the season – a beat down at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens – after eeking out wins in their first two games.

The Seattle Seahawks were supposed to be good this season but nobody could have predicted how good. Every aspect of the game is simply on fire at the moment – the defense is absolutely dominating, the running game is strong and the passing game under Russell Wilson has made the biggest strides of any for this team.

Offensively Seattle ranks eighth in the league on the ground with an average of 132.7 yards per game and they are averaging a very good 247 yards through the air. Russell Wilson is coming off a four TD performance in which Sidney Rice and Zach Miller were the stars. Offensive star Marshawn Lynch had a bad game last week and the Hawks still won the game.

Its proof that Seattle has emerged into a terrific well-balanced offense that can do damage anywhere, anytime.

Seattle’s defense is ranked first in the league against the pass, giving up just 146.7 yards per game through the air, and on the ground, opposing teams are averaging just 95 yards per game – as advertised. The Hawks are plain scary on defense – something that alone should carry them a long way.

Houston has been a bit of a mystery so far this season. They won their first two games over San Diego and Tennessee but were far from dominant in either and last week they met their match in a game against an OK defense in Baltimore.

Andre Johnson is already nicked up and Matt Schaub has thrown an interception for a TD in each of the first three games so far – not terrific for a supposed elite team. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Texans have one of the best defenses in the league – allowing just 157.7 yards per game through the air, and 91.3 yards per game on the ground – rivaling the Seattle Seahawks. They are a serious challenge for any offensive group and with names like JJ Watt and Brian Cushing, they should continue to terrorize the opposition.

Offensively is where the Texans throw up a few red flags. Last week Houston had just 264 yards of total offense and they turned the ball over again. Arian Foster has yet to find his stride – he gained only 54 yards last week although the Texans as a team are averaging 4.7 yards per carry this year.

Houston, simply put, has looked out of sync offensively – not a good sign when you have the likes of Seattle coming to town!

Betting Prediction

A few trends to consider

• Under is 8-1 in SEA last 9 games in September.
• SEA are 13-3 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
• SEA are 25-9-1 ATS in their last 35 games overall.
• HOU are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games in Week 4.
• HOU are 20-7-2 ATS in their last 29 games on grass.

Seattle’s troubles on the road are well documented but this team is 11-1 ATS in their last 12 overall. The Hawks on a different level at the moment – every aspect of their game is capable of taking over at any time. Because of that I like the Hawks to prevail Sunday and win their second game on the road at the dreaded 1 PM ET start.

Seattle is too deep, too confident and too good to be denied by an average looking Houston team.

Pick: Seattle Seahawks -2 1/2
