The Lions have a high ceiling and this game might be one where they approach it.
Detroit
When the Detroit Lions are on their offense looks nearly unstoppable. Last week they put up 40 points in a game in which they turned the ball over a bunch and you can bet they will be looking to expose the fact that no team is worse against the pass than Philly this week. However, one of the reasons I like this team so much this year is that they can run the ball too. RBs Reggie Bush and Joique Bell rushed for more than 200 yards against Green Bay and they should be able to have success this week too giving the offense a nice balance.

On defense the Lions have two stud defensive tackles in Suh and Fairley which makes them well equipped to try and defend the proficient running game of the Eagles. If they can do that maybe they can take some chances and try and force Foles into the mistakes we haven’t seen yet. I think this will be a very interesting and exciting contest.
Philadelphia
The Eagles are not a bad team but I am not sure they are a good one either. Sure they have won 4 games in a row but their victims are not all that impressive and I am not sure you can be a good team when you are last against the pass in a passing league. Add to that a first time NFL coach and a first time NFL starting quarterback and they have done quite well just to be in the position that they are right now…In case you couldn’t tell from the lead up I don’t think they can keep this up.
I am not predicting a disastrous meltdown but I think they will be lucky to split their final four games and I think they will be upset by Detroit come Sunday. This team has been just awful covering spread at home this season with a 1-5 record. The assumptions that they should run over people get the best of them and then they don’t back it up. I think this one should be a pick’em at best.
