San Diego vs Kansas City NFL Spread/Handicapping
If the Kansas City Chiefs are truly a top team then they will snap right back after their first loss of the season to Denver last week. San Diego is in the great morass that is building for the final playoff spot in the AFC and needs every win they can get.

The AFC West is probably underrated as far as hatred and rivalries go but I think we will see plenty of that on Sunday.

This is an important game for both teams.
San Diego
The Chargers are on the outer edge of the AFC playoff pictures right now, but there are a lot of teams right there with them so things can change in a hurry and will week to week.

This is the first of two games San Diego will have against Kansas City and logic dictates they have to win at least one of them so they might as well get started.
For that to happen they need QB Philip Rivers to have a very good game.
Right now the Chargers are 4th in passing yards in the league as he has enjoyed a bit of a renaissance under their new coach. The problem is that individual success is not leading to a lot of wins.
Three straight losses and now they are going on the road into one of the toughest places to play in the league.
That doesn’t sound like a recipe for a close game. I am surprised the Chiefs are not favoured by more.
Kansas City
The Chiefs may have lost last week against Denver but I don’t think the game exposed them as a fraud.
The defense played pretty well in holding the Broncos to 27 points which is almost two touchdowns lower than their seasonal average but the offense did not get much done and that is why there are very real concerns about the Chief’s ability to be a real contender in the AFC.
They did pick up some yards, especially on the ground, but they just didn’t convert them into many points.
This week won’t be nearly as challenging as they return home and face a San Diego squad that is not as good as Denver in almost every aspect of the game.
Still I think many are expecting there to be a hangover effect otherwise how do you justify the insulting spread number given they have twice as many wins as San Diego.
