New York

The Giants recovered nicely from their loss to Washington last week by putting up 52 points in a surprisingly easy win against New Orleans.

They needed it to maintain their lead in the NFC East over Dallas and the Redskins too.

The way things are shaping up they may need to win all of their final games to guarantee a playoff spot but we all have seen how this team is at its best with their backs against the wall…

Last week we saw a nice development as the running game came alive with lightning quick rookie back David Wilson.  He gives the Giants the ability to hit some home runs running the ball and taking some of the pressure of Eli Manning.

Manning was good but not great last week and will probably will have to be sharper down the stretch…New York is just 6-6-1 ATS this season.  Just when it seems they really have things rolling they stumble.

Last year they knocked the Falcons out of the playoffs easily on the road so there should be no intimidation factor as they return to the scene of the crime.

Atlanta

You can’t really blame folks for doubting Atlanta’s status after last week’s loss against Carolina.  Sure the Panthers played them close early in the season but it was the way they lost that has people whispering.  The team was completely dead for the first half and the final score probably was flattering to them in the end… [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Giants pose a completely different animal than the Panthers.

New York will look to challenge a defense that gives up a lot of yards but not that many points.  Also, lets not forget that the last time these two team met in the playoffs the Falcons scored zero points on offense and were held to just 247 yards.

They need to show up in this one or another loss is coming their way.

QB Matt Ryan especially…

The Falcons are just 3-3 ATS at home this season though they have yet to lose a game at the dome.  They absolutely have to get off to a good start after last week’s performance or else this team will begin to doubt itself – maybe it already is.

I think they are primed for another fall, especially because they are not really being challenged within their own division this season.
