The Titans are the only team with a reasonable shot to catch the Colts in the AFC South – a lot is on the line for both teams.

The Indianapolis Colts have looked like one of the teams to beat in the AFC at time this year – wins over San Francisco, Seattle and Denver showed that this team is ready to contend – a 38-8 loss to the Rams on Sunday showed something completely different! Still, with Andrew Luck guiding this team, the Week 10 outcome may just be the exception, not the norm.

In two games that the Colts have played without Reggie Wayne, it is obvious that his presence is missed. The offense has struggled and Darrius Heyward-Bey clearly isn’t the answer. Luck threw for 353 yards, was picked off three times and he fumbled once (it led to a TD for the Rams) in the Week 11 loss. But outside of TY Hilton, he clearly has trust in nobody in the passing game.

Some help from Trent Richardson would be nice! He is averaging 35.7 yards rushing over seven games since being acquired from Cleveland – not exactly what the Colts had in mind.

The Tennessee Titans lost to the lowly Jaguars last week – 29-27 in a game that they turned the ball over four times, gave up a safety and allowed a defensive TD. But they lost more than the game – Jake Locker is gone for the season after sustaining yet another injury – the Titans will be forced to turn back to Ryan Fitzpatrick who started two games this year already losing both.

There was some optimism before Tennessee`s bye that Chris Johnson was ready to break out – 150 yards and 2 TDs but he fell back to earth against the pitiful Jags – just 30 yards on 12 carries. With Fitzpatrick guiding the team and with Johnson in an all-too-familiar funk, the Tennessee offense appears on paper ill-equipped to keep up with the Indy offense Thursday.

Thursday Night Football Betting Prediction:

A few trends to consider:

• IND are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Thu. games.
• Under is 7-1 in IND last 8 games on grass.
• IND are 9-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
• TEN are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. AFC South.
• TEN are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 11.
• Under is 8-3 in TEN last 11 games in November.
• Under is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings.
• Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Tennessee.

These two teams played each other close last year – the Colts have won three straight meetings and swept the season series by a combined 10 points – including an OT victory – a year ago. But the biggest factor for me is the injury to Jake Locker – the Titans are at least a TD per game worse with Ryan Fitzpatrick guiding the ship.

Off an embarrassing loss, on National Television, look for Andrew Luck and company to crank it up Thursday night. This game has blowout written all over it!

Pick: Indianapolis Colts -3
