The Giants enter the game in good form but the 49ers are coming off a win in which they gained a staggering 300 yards on the ground and 300 yards through the air.
The New York Giants are 3-2 on the season so far but have yet to put it all together in the same game. Eli Manning has been terrific but injuries in the receiving corp. and in the running game have made for a bit of a revolving door on the offensive side of the ball.
Things are stabilizing a tad however – Ahmad Bradshaw erupted for 200 yards last week to solidify their necessary running game.

Manning and the Giants passing game is 3rd in the NFL and the running game is creeping up the rankings and is now 12th. A healthy Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden would certainly help! New York is the second highest scoring team in the NFL but will have their hands full against San Francisco’s elite defense.
The problem with the Giants has been on the defensive side of the ball. They are 22nd versus the pass and 16th against the run. Like last year this unit is taking a while to get it going but once they find their stride they will be top tier once again.
Wow, the San Francisco 49ers sure have avenged their only loss of the season! Since their Week 3 game in Minnesota they have outscored their opponents 79-3! Incredible. The 49ers are 27th in passing which may seem like a misprint and they are the #1 rushing offense in the NFL. It all adds up to San Francisco being a handful on offense!
San Francisco’s defense is as advertised – stout and an absolute terror for opposing offenses. They are #2 versus the pass and 7th against the run. They allow just 13.60 points per game – tops in the NFL.
It should be a good battle between this unit and the league’s second best scoring offense!

The Giants are one of the top tier teams in the NFL as are the 49ers. But there are a few factors that have me leaning toward San Francisco in this one.
The Niners are undoubtedly pissed about losing to the Giants in the playoffs last year, the 49ers beat the Giants in San Francisco last year, the 49ers are at home and they own the better defense.
Turnovers will be the difference in this one – we all know what Eli Manning morphs into when things aren’t going his way. San Francisco’s defense dominates again and the Niners win by a touchdown.
