New York Giants vs. Cincinnati Bengals Preview

However, there is a good chance they will get back on track facing the Bengals (3-5), who have lost 4 straight and are only 1-3 at home. NFL lines have the Giants as 3.5-point favorites with a total of 48.5.

In their last games the Giants lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-20 and the Bengals lost to the Denver Broncos 31-23.

On the season the Giants 4-4-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-6 and the Bengals are 2-5-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 5-3.

Manning only passed for 125 yards in the loss to the Steelers and he does not have a TD pass in his last 2 games. WR Victor Cruz has really not played well in the last couple of weeks and WR Hakeem Nicks is questionable for this game with a knee injury. The Bengals only rank 19th in the league in pass defense and Peyton Manning torched them last week.

Ahmad Bradshaw had 2 games a few weeks ago where he combined to rush for over 300 yards, but in the 3 games since he has not rushed for over 80 yards and in each game failed to rush for 4 yards per carry. While the Bengals only rank 17th in the league in defending the run their run D played well last week holding Denver to only 68 yards on the ground.[soliloquy id=”82219″]

Andy Dalton has A.J. Green, who ranks 6th in the league in receiving yards and has caught a TD in 7 straight games. It is key that Dalton get protection in this game, as in the Denver game he was sacked 5 times and this week will be facing a Giants’ pass rush that ranks 3rd in the league in sacks. If he is given time in the pocket he may have a big game facing a New York pass defense that only ranks 26th in the league.

The Giants’ run defense has not played well this season and the Steelers torched them on the ground last week. Still, this week they will be facing Cincy RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who has not looked good all season and is only averaging 3.4 yards per carry.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Giants are 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss, and they have an Under record of 5-1 in their last 6 road games.

The Bengals are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall, and they have an Over record of 8-3 in their last 11 home games.

Jason’s Pick: This one is an easy call, as even on the road the Giants will win and cover. Manning will have a good game and the Giants pass rush will wreak havoc in the Cincy backfield.
