Monday Night Football Pick – Week 2

LOOKING FOR THE BEST NFL CAPPERS ON THE PLANET FOR YOUR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAMBLING PICKS??? —>

After Monday Night NFL betting gave us some surprisingly close games in Week 1, can the Colts and Dolphins treat us to something special tonight? Both teams’ offenses stalled last week, so something tells me there’s a barn burner in the making in Miami.

Indianapolis Colts (-3) @ Miami Dolphins
Tonight, 8:35 p.m. ET

The Colts couldn’t muster much offense against Jacksonville in Week 1 and, while we can’t go overboard worrying about one game, there are some red flags. Neither Joseph Addai nor Donald Brown established himself as a dangerous presence in the running game, which put pressure on Peyton Manning. With Anthony Gonzalez injuring his knee in the first quarter, Manning’s receiving options were suddenly limited. This week – and going forward – he has to hope someone can step up besides Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark. Are rookies Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon up to the task?

Miami’s offense stalled in Atlanta last week and a big reason was the line play. Jake Long really struggled with his footwork and the Chad Pennington has to fear at least a little bit for his safety with speedy Dwight Freeney attack him from the end. The Dolphins also have to use Ronnie Brown more creatively, as they couldn’t find space for him in Week 1.

The Indy defense was underrated last season, allowing the seventh fewest points in the league. Its pass defense in particular is solid and did a good job against David Garrard last week. Miami’s passing game isn’t much better or worse than Jacksonville’s, so online sports betting fans should expect Indy to contain Pennington tonight.

The Dolphins pass defense was porous in 2008 and, despite adding Gibril Wilson and drafting Vontae Davis, still looked shaky in Week 1 and Matt Ryan torched them. They really struggled against Tony Gonzalez, so sure-handed Dallas Clark could give the Dolphins fits. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams should gash Indy’s run defense with Bob Sanders out, but they can only do so much. The Colts should get an early lead, forcing Miami to throw, which is bad news for the Fish. Handicapping software projects an Indy win and a high-scoring game.

If Miami can hold onto the ball tonight they have a chance. If they can catch the Colts off guard with a few wildcat plays they may be able to pull off the upset. That being said, I never feel comfortable betting against Peyton Manning especially in a nationally televised game
