Tennessee Titans vs. Washington Redskins Preview

On the season the Titans are 1-4-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 2-4 and the Colts are 2-4 ATS and they have an O/U record of 4-2.

This season the Redskins are 1-2 at home and the Titans are 1-2 on the road.

In their last games the Titans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 16-14 and the Redskins lost to the Arizona Cardinals 30-20.

The Redskins only win on the season came in a thrashing of the Jacksonville Jaguars and now they are 6-point betting favorites facing the Titans. Many have called for Kirk Cousins to be replaced as the starting QB for Washington, but he is still the guy under center and he has a legit WR corps and will be facing a Tennessee pass defense that only ranks 18th in the league.

The Titans are coming off a win and that snapped their 4-game losing streak. However, the win was over the winless Jags, but a win is a win.

The Redskins have struggled to run the ball in the last few games and Alfred Morris has yet to rush for over 100 yards in any games this season. In the last 2 games he has really struggled, but look for the Skins to give the Titans a heavy dose of their RB, as the Tennessee run defense is the 24th ranked unit in the league.

Cousins has the weapons, but it helps if he throws it to the guys in his uniform. Tennessee does rank 5th in the league with 7 picks and Cousins has 7 INT in his last 2 games.

Jake Locker still has a thumb injury and the Tennessee QB is still a question mark for this non-conference game. If he cannot go Charlie Whitehurst will get the start and in the Titans win over the Jags the journeyman backup passed for 233 yards and while he did not have a TD he also was not picked off.

The Titans did not run the ball well in the Jax win with only 70 rushing yards and they will be facing a Washington run D that ranks 12th in the league and played well last week even in the loss to the Cardinals holding Arizona to 74 rushing yards.

The Redskins defense ranks in the middle of the pack in pass and run D, but they have still given up an average of 34 ppg in during their 4 game losing streak. They need to shore up their D and, especially not turn the ball over and if they can do that they may snap their losing streak.

NFL Week 7 Betting Trends

* Tennessee is 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.
* Tennessee is 1-8-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
* Washington is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.
* Washington is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
* The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 games between these 2 teams.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

Ok, so the road team and the underdog are each 4-0 ATS in the last 4 games between these 2 teams, but I am going to buck those trends. Cousins will have a big game and the Redskins will win and cover the 6-point spread.
