Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions Preview

On the season the Bucs are 5-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 4-8 and the Lions are 6-6 ATS and they have an Under record of 3-9.

This season the Lions are 5-1 at home and the Bucs are 2-4 on the road.

In their last games Lions beat the Chicago Bears 34-17 and the Bucs lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 14-13.

The Bucs have had a season to forget, but they played a decent defensive game in their recent loss to the Bengals where they had 3 picks. Still, they are a big 10-point road underdog facing a Lions team that got off to a slow start, but looked impressive in their Thanksgiving Day win over the Bears.

One positive thing the Bucs have going for them is their only 2 wins this season have come on the road.

The Lions snapped their 2-game losing streak in their win over the Bears and they are in 2nd place in the NFC North 1 game back of the Packers, who they face in the season finale.

Even if they do not catch Green Bay they are in a good position for a Wild Card and the Packers are the only team they face the rest of the season that has a winning record.

Matthew Stafford passed for 390 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT in the win over the Bears and while Golden Tate is the leading WR in terms of yards the Bucs may be more worried about Calvin Johnson. Megatron had a big game against Chicago with 146 receiving yards with 2 TD. While the Tampa Bay pass D ranks 22nd they played well last week keeping Andy Dalton to only 176 yards and picking him off 3 times.

The Bucs gave up 112 rushing yards last week and will face a Detroit rushing offense that has not looked good this season. Even in the win over the Bears they did not rush for over 100 yards even though Joique Bell had a decent game.

Josh McCown was 15/29 for 190 yards and 0 TD and 1 INT in the loss to the Bengals. Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson are the top 2 WR’s for the Bucs and their size may give the Detroit pass defense issues.

To say the Lions stuffed the run against the Bears would be an understatement, as they held them to only 13 rushing yards.

Tampa Bay only had a total of 75 rushing yards in Cincy game with Doug Martin leading the way only averaging 3.2 yards per carry.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

Many of the key betting trends pointing to the Bucs at least covering in this game. However, that will not happen, as Stafford and the Lions will put up another solid offensive performance and the D will shut the Bucs down. Even giving 10-point take the Lions to win and cover.
