Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers Preview

On the season the Eagles are 2-1 ATS and have an Over/Under record of 3-0 and the 49ers are 1-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 1-2.

In their last games the Eagles beat the Washington Redskins 37-34 and the 49ers lost to the Arizona Cardinals 23-14.

This season the 49ers are 0-1 at home and the Eagles are 1-0 on the road.

The 49ers were thought to be one of the best teams in the league this season after reaching the NFC title games 3 years in a row. However, they have lost 2 straight games after winning their opener and in their last 2 games they blew leads.

Still, they are back at home where they are 5.5-point betting favorites and look to get their first win at their new stadium.

The Eagles are 3-0 and atop the NFC East, but they have to feel a little lucky to get a W after their last game. They gave up over 400 passing yards and on offense could not run the ball and they got a late INT that iced the game for them

MyBookie

Eagles’ QB Nick Foles played well in the Washington win with 325 passing yards with 3 TD and 0 INT. He was not sacked one time and WR Jeremy Maclin had 154 receiving yards nearly averaging 20 yards per catch.

Foles seems to be getting more comfortable every game in Chip Kelly’s new offense, but he had to do it all in the Redskins game since the rushing offense was thwarted.

LeSean McCoy has gotten off to a slow start this season and is averaging less than 3 years per carry. While the Eagles could not run the ball against the Redskins they will need McCoy and Sproles to run the ball so the San Francisco defense simply does not drop back to defend the pass.

The 49ers have gone away from their game if playing great defense and leaning in the rushing attack. The pass defense, which ranks 15th in the league, has given up too many big plays and that is especially the case in the 2nd half in the last 2 weeks.

Colin Kaepernick had over 300 total yards against he Cardinals, but in the 49ers 2-game losing streak he has 3 picks and only 2 TD. He has the WR’s, but the team needs TE Vernon Davis to be on the field this week, which he was not last week. The Eagles were killed in the air last week and overall their pass D ranks 30th in the league.

The 49ers need to get back to their old ways of using, or overusing, Frank Gore, which only had 10 yards on 6 carries last week. He and Carols Hyde have to get more carries and keep the dynamic offense of Philly off the field.

NFL Week 3 Betting Trends

Cappers NFL Free 4* Pick

I think the 49ers of the last few seasons will show up, as they will have a good game running the ball and play good D and win and cover.
