Miami Dolphins vs. Oakland Raiders Preview

On the season the Dolphins are 1-2 ATS and have an Over/Under record of 2-1 and the Raiders are 2-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 1-2.

In their last games the Raiders lost to the New England Patriots 16-7 and the Dolphins lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 34-15.

This game will be held in London England an that may be a good thing for the 0-3 Raiders, who may want to avoid their fans. The Raiders are 0-3 and they have been terrible on offense and if there is a silver lining it is that they only lost by 7-points last week to the New England Patriots, where Oakland played good defense.

Good defense is what the Dolphins did not play last week in giving up 35 points to the Kansas City Chiefs where they were torched on the ground giving up 174 rushing yards.

In the 19 point loss to Kansas City the Chiefs committed 2 turnovers while the Dolphins had 0 and KC still easily won.

Can the Raiders get anything going on offense on the other side of the pond?

That is a big question.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The passing offense ranks 29th and the rushing offense 31st and they have only averaged just over 12 ppg after 3 games. Derek Carr should be the starter again, but he has a less than stellar WR corps and he had 3 picks and 3 TD so far.

The one thing the Dolphins have going for them is that they have played solid pass defense, ranking 7th, so far on the season.

What happened to Darren McFadden? He is healthy but the Raiders cannot run the ball and while the leading rusher for Oakland he only has 111 yards after 3 games and is averaging a paltry 3.3 yards per carry.

However, McFadden has a legit chance to break out of his slump facing a KC run D that did not look good last week and only ranks 20th in the NFL defending the run.

Miami QB Ryan Tannehill is on the hot-seat, but he should get the start in this game. He has a solid WR duo in Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline, but has to get them the ball.

He had a completion percentage of below 49% in the Kansas City game and will face an Oakland pass D that has played well so far this season.

The Dolphins have been able to run the ball well this season and Lamar Miller and Knowshon Moreno, who was injured and did not play last week, will have their chances facing an Oakland run defense that ranks 2nd to last in the league.
