Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills Preview

On the season the Chiefs are 6-2 ATS and they have an O/U record of 2-6 and the Bills are 4-4 ATS and they have an Under record of 2-6.

This season the Bills are 2-2 at home and the Chiefs are 2-2 on the road.

In their last games the Chiefs beat the New York Jets 24-10 and the Bills also beat the New York Jets, they are coming off a bye week, 43-23.

The Chiefs have won 3 straight and their defense has been lights out in their last 2 games only giving up a total of 17 points. They head to Buffalo as the slight 1.5-point betting favorites facing a Bills’ team that that has won 3 of their last 4 games including their last 2.

Buffalo QB Kyle Orton has played well since taking over the starting job and he will likely have to carry the offense this Sunday. the top 2 RB’s for Buffalo are out with injuries, Fred Jackson practiced Monday, but is still doubtful, and even in the win over the Jets in their last game Buffalo only rushed for a grand total of 67 yards.

Orton was sacked 4 times in the win over the Jets and his offensive line has a tall task in this game. Justin Houston, who leads the league in sacks (11), leads the Chiefs pass rush that ranks 3rd in the league in sacks this season.

With Spiller and Jackson likely out Anthony Dixon will shoulder the run offense for the Bills, but he has not played well and in the win over the Jets he rushed for 44 yards on 22 carries for a 2-yar per carry average. It would really help out the Bills if he can help Orton and while KC has a great pass defense their run defense only ranks 19th in the league.

The one guy that the Bills may really have to worry about is RB Jammal Charles. He leads the Chiefs in rushing yards and has played well since coming back from injury. The Bills rank 8th in the league in run defense, but even in the loss the Jets they gave up 175 yards on the ground.

One of the main reasons the Bills beat the Jets is that their defense forced 6 turnovers. They had 4 picks in the game, but while KC QB Alex Smith has not put up big umbers this season has managed games well and after throwing 3 picks in the opening game of the season he only has one since then and none in the last 3 games.
