Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Preview

On the season the Lions are 7-8 ATS and they have an O/U record of 4-11 and the Packers are 8-6-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 10-5.

This season the Packers are 7-0 at home and the Lions are 4-3 on the road.

In their last games the Packers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-3 and the Lions beat the Chicago Bears 20-14.

Well, it is pretty easy, as the winner of this game will win the NFC North. Each still has a chance to get home field, but the Seahawks have to lose and they are big time home favorites facing a sub .500 Rams team. Green Bay can clinch a first round bye with a win, but the Lions still need help even if they win. However, no matter how you look at it both of these teams are playoff bound.

Earlier this season in Detroit the Lions beat the Packers 19-7.

The Packers got over their shocking loss to Buffalo with an easy win over Tampa Bay, They will face a Lions’ defense that ranks 13th in the league against the pass and 1st against the run.

Aaron Rodgers passed for 318 yards with a TD and 0 INT in the win over the Bucs and the Lions’ secondary will have their hands full trying to cover the great WR tandem of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, who each had over 110 receiving yards in the Tampa Bay game.

Eddie Lacy will be tested facing the top ranked Detroit D, but he has looked much better in the 2nd half of the season and against Tampa Bay he rushed for 99 yards averaging nearly 6 yards per carry.

In the Week 3 loss Rodgers only passed for 162 yards and Lacy only rushed for 36 yards.

The Lions have won 4 straight but none of those teams have a winning record. Matthew Stafford has thrown for over 4,000 yards this season and like the Packers the Lions also have a great WR tandem in Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson. The Lions rushed for 138 yards in the win over the Bears and the Lions are much more dangerous on the ground now that Reggie Bush is healthy.

The Packers defense ranks a solid 10th in the league against the run, but only 22nd against the pass.

Can the Lions win in Green Bay? To do so they will have to play solid defense and they will probably have to have success running the ball.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

The Lions are solid, but they only have one win, unless the Falcons win this Sunday, facing a team that is headed to the playoffs and that was the Packers. In Green Bay the Packers will win this game, cover the spread, and take the division crown.
