Cincinnati Bengals vs. Indianapolis Colts Preview

On the season the Bengals are 8-7-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 6-10 and the Colts are 10-5-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 9-7.

This season the Colts are 6-2 at home and the Bengals are 5-3 on the road.

In their last games the Colts beat the Tennessee Titans 27-10 and the Bengals lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17.

Will this be the year Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis end their playoff failures? The Cincy QB is 0-3 in the playoffs and the Bengals are 0-5 in the post-season with Lewis at the helm. They lost 2 of their last games of the season, both coming against the Steelers, and they are 4-point road underdogs in this playoff game.

The Colts won their last game of the season regrouping after getting crushed by the Dallas Cowboys. Andrew Luck leads the league’s top ranked offense, but the 18th ranked run defense is a concern.

Dalton has a great WR duo in A.J. Green and Mohamed Sanu, but the Bengals must lean on the run in this game. One key stat is in the 3 playoff losses for Dalton he averaged 41 pass attempts per game. He attempted 38 facing the Colts in Indy this season and only completed 18 in a 27-0 road loss. The Colts rank a respectable 13th in the league defending the pass.

Jeremy Hill has been THE guy for the Bengals late in the season and in his last t3 games he rushed for 148, 147, and 100 yards respectively. Cincy must ride him on offense in this game facing a Indy run defense that only ranks 18th in the league and gave up 142 rushing yards to the Titans last week.

Luck has the weapons on offense with the great WR duo of T.Y. Holton and Reggie Wayne, who have combined for 2,124 receiving yards this season, and old college buddy TE Coby Fleener. Luck has had to do it all this season with little help from the rushing offense, as Trent Richardson is the lead rusher and has 519 yards on the season averaging 3.3 yards per rush.

The Bengals had 2 sacks in their earlier match up with the Colts this season, but their pass rush ranks dead last in the league in sacks.

While the Cincinnati defense has not been very good, as least they are consistent ranking 20th in the league both defending the pass and the run.

While the Colts crushed the Bengals at home earlier this season A.J. Green was out with an injury and Hill only got 4 carries.
