Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots Preview

On the season the Bills are 8-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 3-12 and the Patriots are 9-6 ATS and they have an Under record of 9-6.

This season the Patriots are 7-0 at home and the Bills are 3-4 on the road.

In their last games the Patriots beat the New York Jets 17-16 and the Bills lost to the Oakland Raiders 26-24.

With all the Week 17 playoff scenarios it can be a little hard to understand, who will make it. However, for this game it is easy, as the Pats have clinched home field throughout the playoffs and the Bills cannot make the post-season.

The Pats are the big double digit betting favorite in this game, but should they be? I would be surprised if Tom Brady and many of the key players saw a lot of playing time since they already have home field.

The Bills did shock the Packers beating them a couple of weeks back, but they are out of the post-season, as they have lost 2 of their last 3 games. They are just playing for pride, but If they win and finish at 9-7 it may be deemed a success since they were not given much of a chance this season.

Brady has been solid all season passing for over 4,000 yards and TE Rob Gronkowski and WR Julian Edelman have combined for over 2,000 receiving yards and 16 TD. Brady may take some snpas, but I think rookie Jimmy Garoppolo will play most of the game and for the season he has thrown a total of 10 passes, but has completed 9 of them and has a TD.

The Pats only rushed for 85 yards in the New York win, but they may keep the ball more on the ground in this game.

The Bills rank 3rd in the league in pass defense and 13th in run defense and they allowed the Raiders to rush for 140 yards last week.

Kyle Orton leads the Buffalo offense and in the Oakland game he passed for 329 yards with 3 TD, but the 2 INT were costly. Rookie Sammy Watkins leads the less than stellar WR corps and will face a New England pass defense that ranks 21st in the league.

The Pats run D ranks 12th in the league and even in the win they allowed the Jets to rush for 116 yards. Fred Jackson and Boobie Dixon could not get anything going against Oakland last week, as the Bills rushed for a grand total of 13 yards.

Earlier this season at home the Patriots beat the Bills 37-22.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

I think many players will sit for the Pats and while I still think they will get the W the Bills will cover the big 10.5-point spread.
