Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals Preview

On the season the Ravens are 4-2-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 3-4 and the Bengals are 3-3 ATS and they have an O/U record of 2-4.

This season the Bengals are 2-0-1 at home and the Ravens are 2-1 on the road.

In their last games the Ravens beat the Atlanta Falcons 29-7 and the Bengals were crushed losing to the Indianapolis Colts 27-0.

The Ravens have won 2 straight and 5 of their last 6 games and in their last 2 games they have only given up an average of 12 ppg. However, are they for real? Their lone win this season facing a team that is over .500 is the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are a slight 1.5-point favorite on the road to a Bengals team they lost to at home in the season opener.

To say that the Bengals, who are winless in their last 3 games, want to forget about the Colts’ loss would be an understatement. They gave up 506 total yards in the game and their offense could only muster 135 total yards. No wonder they were shut out.

Last season the Bengals had a solid defense, but so far this season they only rank 27th defending the pass and 30th defending the run.

The struggling Cincy defense will face a Baltimore offense that ranks in the top 10 in the league in passing and rushing yards per game.

The Bengals have been without star WR A.J. Green, but he may play in this game. Dalton could sure use him, as he only passed for 127 yards and he was sacked 3 times. The rushing offense was non-existent in the Colts game with 32 yards on the ground.

In the season opener Dalton passed for over 300 yards with Green having 131 receiving yards. Yeah, Green is important to Cincy and they need him back for this game.

The Ravens used a well-balanced at tack on offense to beat the Falcons with 248 passing yards and 123 rushing yards. Joe Flacco has been playing well, but he does have 4 INT, as well as 6 TD in his last 4 games. The one player the Bengals’ secondary has to keep in check is WR Steve Smith, who leads the team with 640 receiving yards while the 2nd leading WR in Torrey Smith has 308.

Justin Forsett has been playing well and he ranks 4th in the NFL in rushing yards. The Bengals were not only torched through the air last week against Andrew Luck and the Colts, but they gave up 171 rushing yards to an Indy team that has had major issues moving the ball on the ground this season.

The Bengals are at home, but I think the Ravens will play them close and they may not win, but they will cover the spread.
