Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions Gambling Odds & Week 11 Free NFL Pick

Green Bay vs Detroit Betting

The Packers (6-3) have won 4 straight, but they are really banged up and will miss a few players on both sides of the ball in this game. The Lions (4-5) had been playing well before last week’s game where they struggled on defense in the loss to the Vikings.

Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions Preview

The Packers still trail the Bears by 1 game in the tight NFC North and 5 of their next 7 games are facing teams within the division. NFL lines have the Packers as 3.5-point road favorites with a total of 52.

In their last games the Packers beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-17 and the Lions lost to the Minnesota Vikings 34-24.

The Packers are at 4-5 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 6-3 and the Lions are at 4-5 ATS with an Over/Under record of 6-2-1.

Aaron Rodgers still has some good targets even though RB Greg Jennings will not be available for this game. Rodgers is 6-1 all time against the Lions with 16 TD and only 4 INT. The Lions rank a legit 7th in the league in pass defense, but facing a Vikings’ team last week that does not have a good passing attack the Detroit secondary really struggled and if that happens again Rodgers may light them up.

The Lions run defense gave up a ton of yards last week to Adrian Peterson, but at least this week they face Alex Green, who has not played well since taking over for the injured Cedric Benson and is only averaging 3.1 yards per carry. Still, last week the Packers rushed for 176 yards with 4 guys having at least 25 rushing yards.[soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Lions have the league’s top-ranked passing offense with Matthew Stafford leading the way and the league’s best WR in Calvin Johnson. Stafford has many targets at his disposal and it is key he has time to find them facing a Packers’ pass rush that has the 2nd most sacks in the NFL.

Mikel Leshoure had been running the ball well with the Lions resurgence, but he struggled last week. He will need to play well in this game not only to help Stafford out, but also to keep Rodgers off the field. The Packers have been decent against the run this season ranking 11th in run D.

In some betting trends for this NFC North match up the Packers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games facing a team with a losing record and they have an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 games.

The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games, 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games facing a team with a winning record, and they have an Over record of 8-2-1 in their last 11 games.

Jason’s Pick: The Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against the Lions in Detroit and that trend will continue. Stafford will have another big game, but so will Rodgers and the Packers will win and cover the spread.
