The Cardinals (8-5), who have won four of their last five, remain one game back of Carolina and rival San Francisco for the sixth and final seed in the postseason.

Larry Fitzgerald has caught a TD pass in four consecutive games from quarterback Carson Palmer who overcame an elbow injury to throw for 269 yards and a TD in the 30-10 rout of division rival St. Louis last weekend.

Palmer has played much better of late, limiting turnovers, with just two interceptions to eight touchdowns over the past four outings.

Meanwhile, Tennessee (5-8) saw their playoff chances all but snuffed out last week, after losing in Denver 51-28. The Titans are 2-7 over their last nine games and dropped four of five after starting quarterback Jake Locker went down with a season-ending injury.
After surrendering an NFL-worst 471 points last season, the Titans defensive despair has returned, with opponents averaging 33 points in their past four defeats.

Offensively, it’s been no picnic either, but one bright spot has been backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who threw five touchdowns passes and zero interceptions in his first three games since taking over for Locker.

However, he’s been picked off four times in the past two games and is not getting much help from the running game, which is led by former prolific rusher Chris Johnson, who has been limited to 46 yards or fewer six times and is averaging a career-low 3.8 yards per carry.

Matt’s Free Prediction

Probably one of the least watched games of the weekend, this one is important for Arizona fans, whose hope for a postseason rely on a win here.

With both the Panthers and 49ers playing against inferior opponents this Sunday, the Cardinals cannot afford to lose this one.

I expect a solid outing from the Arizona offense, putting up enough points to secure a win and stay in this year’s playoff race.

Cardinals 24, Titans 14
