Arians’ success in Indy last year has followed him to the Valley of the Sun as the Cardinals have been quietly becoming a playoff contender in the NFC.

In the meantime, the Colts (7-3) have not missed Arians and lead the AFC South.

They have won three of their last four games and find themselves right in the middle of a battle for a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Indy has done well against the top of the NFC West, knocking off the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers, but lost 38-8 at home to the Rams in Week 10. They did however, rebound with a 30-27 win over the Titan last time out behind a solid effort from running back Donald Brown who rushed for 80 yards and two TDs.

So if that trend continues, they should do well versus the Cards’.

The Colts offense is averaging 25 points and 349 yards per game, fueled in part by quarterback Andrew Luck who has rolled up 2,430 yards with 14 touchdowns to just six interceptions.

Defensively, Indy is allowing 22 points and 365 yards per game and they have a plus four turnover ratio.

Meanwhile, Arizona (6-4) has won three straight and is rolling, as Carson Palmer has thrown for six touchdowns and two interceptions during the Redbirds winning streak.

The veteran quarterback passed for 419 yards in last week’s 27-14 win at Jacksonville, while Michael Floyd had six receptions for a career-best 193 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown catch that is the NFL’s longest play from scrimmage this season.

The Cardinals defense, which is allowing 21 points and 324 yards per game, limited the Jaguars to 274 offensive yards.

The running game has struggled however, and that could be a problem that will keep them from making a deep playoff run.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Colts look to be a playoff team for the second consecutive year, while the Cardinals are yet to begin the toughest part of their schedule this campaign.

This is going to be a physical game and will likely come down to the kicking game and field position.

I  look for it to come in under the total.

Colts 21, Cardinals 20
