Now the Chiefs will look for a little revenge when they host Denver at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

Denver (9-2) is on control of its postseason destiny, and will aim to rebound after a tough loss to New England on Monday night.

It’s been a rough stretch for the Broncos who have been riddled by injuries all season long and have several starters that will likely miss this weekend’s bout with the Chiefs.

The Broncos offense however, has been red hot, averaging an NFL best 39 points and 450 yards per game.

Quarterback Peyton Manning has been the main cog in the Denver offensive machine, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes for 3,722 yards with 36 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

Part of Manning’s success can be attributed to the Denver running game, which has provided key support for the passing attack, but could suffer this weekend as Knowshon Moreno is questionable with a bruised ankle. If Moreno can’t go, Montee Ball will get the nod, but he has had trouble holding onto the football.

Defensively, Denver has been a little above average, allowing 26 points and 378 yards per game.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs (9-2) have lost their last two games and are tied with Denver atop the AFC West.

However, a win on Saturday is important, as the Broncos hold the tiebreaker by way of their win in Denver

Kansas City’s success has been due in large part to its potent offense, which has been piloted by quarterback Alex Smith, who has completed 59 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions, despite being sacked 32 times this season.

The offense has also gotten a boost from running back Jamaal Charles, who has rushed for 918 yards and eight touchdowns and has caught 53 passes. Charles has hauled in more passes than the Cheifs’  No. 1  wideout Dwayne Bowe, who has grabbed 42 receptions and four touchdowns.

As a unit, the KC defense for the most part has been good, but has shown holes in its past two outings. If they want to take commend of the division they will need to pull the secondary back together as they face one of the league’s most prolific passer in Manning.

Matt’s Free Prediction

There were 44 points scored when these two met last time, and because both sides have the ability to explode offensively, and have questions recent defensive performances, my play is on the over here.

Denver 38, Chiefs 31
