The Chiefs will try to snap its four-game road losing streak when they roll into one of the NFL’s toughest places to play—Qwest Field – on Sunday.

In four matchups since 2001, the teams have split the series with the Chiefs holding a 104-95 scoring edge. The last matchup was in 2006, which the Chiefs took 35-28.

Kansas City is coming of a win against Arizona in week 11. Dwayne Bowe caught two touchdowns on 109 yards, and with a little help from Pittsburgh pounding the Raiders, regained a  one-game lead in the AFC West.

Just one week after being blown out in Denver, the Chiefs’ Bowe also set a team record by scoring a touchdown in six straight contests. Playing away from Arrowhead hasn’t affected Bowe, who is averaging 8.0 receptions and 119.0 yards with five TDs in the last three away games.

The Chiefs seem to be back on track while Seattle continued its downward slide, losing its fifth game and third in its last four tries, to New Orleans 34-19. Trailing by just 11 at the half the Seahawks did little in the second half to recover, scoring just three points. They had four drives end with field goals, cementing them as second worst in the NFL in red-zone TD efficiency at 32.4 percent.

Unbelievably, their 5-5 record is good enough to lead NFC West.

QB Matt Hasselbeck leads a pass-first team who ranks 20th in passing yards, with 216.7 a game, but has thrown just eight touchdowns on 2,110 yards. Meanwhile, the ground attack has been nearly extinct, and is ranked near dead last with under 100 yards per game.

That’s the polar opposite of the Chiefs who are ranked first overall with just under 165 rushing yards per game.

Running backs Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones are a two-man wrecking crew and have a combined seven touchdowns and 1,592 yards. They should have a field day against a Seahawks defense that has trouble containing the oppositions run.

Passing has not played a major role in the Chiefs success this season, and QB Matt Cassel has been streaky at best with 18 touchdowns on 2,074 yards on the year.

Defensively, KC has appeared a little winded at times and may have bent but has never broken, holding opponents to an average of 17 points per game. And that’s taking into account the 49 they surrendered to Denver.

That could be good trouble for the Seahawks who have had trouble scoring, putting up seven points or less four times this season.

Given the offensive capabilities of Seattle, I just don’t see them finding the end zone enough to outpace a Kansas City running game that will keep the Chiefs out in front all day long. Unless the Seahawks defenses quickly manufactures a way to slow down Charles and Jones, the Chiefs should be able to walk away with the win, dropping Seattle to 3-2 at home..
