The game of the weekend take place in the City of Brotherly Love this Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks, fresh off impressive back-to-back wins against divisional opponents travel east to take on the Philadelphia Eagles who themselves have looked tremendous the last few weeks.
Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are getting healthy at just the right time – a defense that had been plagued by injuries all season long is finally starting to resemble the Super Bowl winning squad that absolutely terrorized the league last year.

Proof is in their consecutive wins against the previously scorching Arizona and San Francisco on Thanksgiving in which they gave up a combined six points – six!
The Seahawks defense allowed 204 total yards against Arizona and held San Francisco to 164 total yards on their home turf – they allowed Colin Kaepernick 121 yards passing and Richard Sherman mustered two impressive interceptions along the way. Mark Sanchez is next on the schedule – he has three multi-interception games in the last five and has proven more-than-capable of a game changing turnover!
Seattle will also be tasked with slowing an improving Philadelphia running game. The return of Bobby Wagner to the lineup will help for sure – the Hawks defense is a different squad since he had come back healthy.
Simply put Seattle’s defense has all of its pieces in place – they are playing lights out and will be the biggest challenge for the Eagles – by far.
Seattle’s offense continues to be largely unimpressive. It will be up to the running game to get it done again.

The rushers are tops in the league – 168 yards per game. Churning out yards will be crucial as will controlling the clock and keeping the dangerous Eagles offense on the sidelines.

Meanwhile the Philadelphia Eagles have been OK, not great on defense but are coming off perhaps their best game of the season in which they made Tony Romo look ordinary and they held DeMarco Murray in check. The task for the Eagles defense will be to keep them in the game and let their prolific offense do the rest.
The Eagles offense continues to click along – it is the reason the Eagles are tops in the NFC East. They gained 256 yards on the ground against Dallas and they are averaging 36.7 points per game on home turf this year.
LeSean McCoy is heating up as we head into the stretch. After a slow start Shady has been sensational making those Fantasy Footballers happy they drafted him Number 1 overall. The Eagles passing game has been good too. Jeremy Maclin has emerged as one of the top receiving threats in the game, rookie Jordan Matthews has proven a terrific compliment and Mark Sanchez has been a surprise to say the least!
Philadelphia is as balanced on offense as they have been all season long but their challenge Sunday is monumental. Taking care of the ball is essential and scoring early will be a benefit as well.

As long as the Eagles can make the Seahawks throw the ball and keep the ball out of Marshawn Lynch`s hands, they have a terrific chance of solidifying their position in the NFC playoff picture.
