The G-Men bring a three game losing streak into Sunday’s tilt while the Seahawks ride a modest two game win streak into Sunday’s action.

Giants

Nothing seems to be going right for the New York Giants. During their 40-24 Week 9 home loss against Indianapolis they lost a few more starters.

Cornerback Prince Amukamara joins Walter Thurmond and Trumaine McBride as defensive casualties while the Giants will be forced to play once again without their starting running back Rashad Jennings and their top receiving threat Victor Cruz.

Defense has been and it looks like it will continue to be a problem for the Giants going forward – the only thing that may save them Sunday is the fact that the Seahawks offense has looked out of sync the last month or so.

Offensively, the Giants looked OK although a chunk of their yardage in Week 9 came in garbage time. Eli Manning threw for 359 yards in Week 9 but is completing just 52% of passes on the year – mostly thanks to an unflattering receiving corp. That said rookie Odell Beckham Jr. had 156 yards against Indy and tight end Larry Donnell has been spectacular at times this year.

Donnell may be the key figure Sunday if the Giants hope to keep it close – Seattle has had troubles with tight ends all season long – Raiders TEs scored twice last week against them and Antonio Gates had three TDs versus the Seahawks earlier this year.

With Rashad Jennings likely to miss another week, it is unlikely the Giants get anything done in the running game against a Seahawks team that has been very good against the run this year.

Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have won two straight games but they look anything but a juggernaut – close wins against the struggling Panthers and the winless Raiders is nothing to write home about. But wins are wins – the Hawks will take them any way that they can get them.

The biggest difference with the Hawks of this year compared to last is the defense. They have proven a tad vulnerable this year. Injuries have played a big part in that. Names like Bobby Wagner (turf toe) and Malcolm Smith (groin), defensive backs Kam Chancellor and Jeremy Lane have all missed time but the latter two are scheduled to make a much needed return this week.

Despite the injuries, the Hawks have started to play better on the defensive side of the ball. The team has surrendered an average of just 13 points per game to their opposition the last two starts and has generated five turnovers – an aspect of their game that had been missing the first eight weeks of the season.

With the defense seemingly righting itself, it is now the offense`s turn to snap out of a bit of a funk. Somehow Russell Wilson was held without a TD last week against the Raiders and he completed under 50% of his passes against one of the worst defenses in the game.

Wilson has a chance to right the ship this week against a battered New York defense – one that has allowed nearly 275 yards per game passing. With center Max Unger and left tackle Russell Okung scheduled to return to the lineup, expect a better game for Wilson.

The Seahawks finally got a productive game from Marshawn Lynch last week after a series of clunkers the last month or so. He scored twice against the Raiders – his first two scores since Week 3!

NFL Week 10 Betting Prediction

If I hadn’t seen the way New York performed against Indy’s terrible defense Monday night I may have leaned the Giants way. But after a Monday night’s putrid performance I just can’t trust the G-Men.

Seattle should be able to dominate on both sides of the ball and gain a much needed easy victory in Week 10.
