Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has not looked overly impressive in the early going, but he is starting to come around. The Louisville product has thrown four touchdowns and one interception in his last two games.

His best game of the year came last weekend against the Carolina Panthers, when he completed 15-of-21 passes for 138 yards and two scores, compiling a 120.7 passer rating in a 31-13 victory.

Bridgewater’s receiving corps is in a bit of a state of flux at the moment. The team officially named Charles Johnson the starter in place of Cordarrelle Patterson opposite Greg Jennings. Patterson is clearly one of the most talented players on the team, but is unpolished as a pass-catcher. He brought in six passes for 86 yards in Week 8, but has caught only five passes for 51 yards since.

The Jets are dealing with some concerns in the passing game of their own. The team fell to the Miami Dolphins on Monday night by a score of 16-13 and now have a short week to prepare for a date with the Vikings.

The 2-10 Jets could be playing out their final games under head coach Rex Ryan, who is in his sixth year with the team.

Jets quarterback Geno Smith completed seven of his 13 pass attempts against the Dolphins in a game in which the Jets held a 10-point lead in the first half and ran the ball 49 times.

With that said, Smith couldn’t get things going on the final drive of the game when he was called upon, firing an interception to sink the team.

The Vikings have been solid against the pass, but they rank as the No. 24 team against the run, which figures to mean a lot more of the Vikings passing game.

Free New York vs. Minnesota Pick:

The Jets have been bad, but there’s still a lot of pride in that locker room, and they’re going to put up a fight in this one against a Vikings team that hasn’t shown an ability to build a margin. In a game that won’t feature a lot of points, the underdog is the play.

The Jets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these teams, and they are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games played in the month of December.

The under is 4-0 in the Jets’ last four games overall, and it is 5-2 in the Vikings’ last seven games overall.
