Cappers NFL Picks: Week 3 Pro Football Power Rankings

Where Each Team Stands After Week 2

Whew – what a week it was in the NFL this past weekend – upsets galore! The topsy-turvy nature of Week 2 makes the Power Rankings a tad tricky – some of the top dogs lost in shocking fashion. Is it time to panic in Seattle, San Francisco and New Orleans?

There are four new teams in the dirty dozen this week – the Week 3 NFL Power Rankings look very different than they did a week ago. So here we go!

So where does each team stand heading into Week 3?

Let’s take a look. NFL Power Rankings

1. Broncos (2-0) Last Week: 2

Not much debate about this one. The Broncos have been scoring at will and the additions of DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib are paying dividends indeed. They have beaten the Colts and the Chiefs – no reason to think they’ll slow down.

2. Seahawks (2-0) Last Week: 1

The defending champs had trouble on the road in Week 2 – surprise! Credit the San Diego Chargers for the perfect game plan and execution in this one. On paper the Hawks still look like the best team in the NFC and although some may think a lower rank is deserved, the Hawks will use Week 2 as an early wake up call.

3. Bengals (2-0) Last Week: 6

The Bengals made a good Atlanta team look absolutely ordinary this past Sunday. Cinci’s defense is top tier and the offense hasn’t missed a beat yet. Even without AJ Green Cincinnati looked incredible.

4. Panthers (2-0) Last Week: 4

Nobody would have found any fault with the Panthers if they laid an egg in either of the first two games but through injury and suspensions Carolina is 2-0. The Panthers defense is insane and the pass catching concerns seem to be a thing of the past.

5. 49ers (1-1) Last Week: 3

Like division foe Seattle, the 49ers had a major hiccup in Week 2. Colin Kaepernick threw three picks and fumbled once – his worst game as a pro. Like their division foe Seattle – we have to give credit to their Week 2 opposition as well.

6. Patriots (1-1) Last Week: 10

That’s more like the Patriots that we all expected! They dominated a shorthanded Vikings team on Sunday – they had their way all game long. With the Raiders coming to town in Week 3, the Patriots Week 1 loss looks more like the exception, not the rule.

7. Eagles (2-0) Last Week: 5

How about Darren Sproles? He is a true weapon the likes that no other team has. There is no doubt about who is best in the NFC East!

8. Cardinals (2-0) Last Week: 15

I’m a believer! The Cards are 2-0 despite playing without Carson Palmer in Week 2. An 11 point win on the road in the Eastern Time zone is mighty impressive and with John Abraham and Carson Palmer scheduled to return this week, the Cards look like they are for real.

9. Packers (1-1) Last Week: 13

Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson are fun to watch aren’t they? The O-line and the defense are still a bit of a concern but with Mr. Rodgers in the fold, the Pack have to be considered top 10 material. Consider their loss was against the defending champs in Seattle and things don’t look all that bad for the Pack.

10. Texans (2-0) Last Week: 24

While I don’t expect the success to continue at this pace, the Texans have to be in the dirty dozen this week. I know that their last win came against Oakland but a 2-0 start is certainly impressive – a last place schedule looks good on the 2014 Texans!

11. Chargers (1-1) Last Week: 18

Dominated the Seahawks in Week 2 and lost by one on the road to the Cardinals – no shame there. That said everything seems to be going right for the Bolts. Antonio Gates looks reborn and the three headed rushing attack seems to be effective. San Diego is a sneaky team that looks poised to move up the Rankings in the coming weeks.

12. Colts (0-2) Last Week: 11

The Colts are definitely the best 0-2 team around – maybe the Saints come close. Either way it doesn’t look like panic time in Indy – they’ll be fine.

13. Falcons (1-1) Last Week: 8
14. Saints (0-2) Last Week: 9
15. Bears (1-1) Last Week: 16
16. Ravens (0-1) Last Week: 20
17. Lions (1-1) Last Week: 14
18. Bills (2-0) Last Week: 22
19. Jets (1-1) Last Week: 21
20. Dolphins (1-1) Last Week: 7
21. Steelers (1-1) Last Week: 19
22. Vikings (1-1) Last Week: 12
23. Browns (1-1) Last Week: 27
24. Cowboys (1-1) Last Week: 26
25. Titans (1-1) Last Week: 17
26. Redskins (1-1) Last Week: 31
27. Rams (1-1) Last Week: 30
28. Chiefs (0-2) Last Week: 25
29. Buccaneers (0-2) Last Week: 23
30. Jaguars (0-2) Last Week: 28
31. Giants (0-2) Last Week: 29
32. Raiders (0-2) Last Week: 32
